Number One reporting for duty, sir. I see you posted this back in November. Somehow missed it until this contest voting booth.

Interesting parallel between The Wizard of Oz and FanStory. This contest has brought out the creativity of many; yours being the most creative. So, who's the wicked witch?

Sometimes it's important to shut off the computer and go outside. Had to laugh at that one, Mark. Super job. You have my vote!

Thanks, Marietta. There have been some terrific entries in this, but they kept putting off the vote for over five weeks. I've almost forgot what I've written. This is my kind of prompt. A bit off beat. I bet your style would have suited this perfectly. I could see you spoofing 'The Santa Clause' or perhaps 'Peter Pan'. Appreciate your support muchly.

I know--I should've been in this contest. Dang.

Well that one was different. It was strong with Fanstory implications, but somehow I got stuck in the middle of it and couldn't find my way back to the yellow brick road.

Thanks for sharing this! Best wishes in the contest entry!
Blessings and shalom!

Hi Mark
Terrific! You have a great imagination. Reading this was like falling down the rabbit hole after Alice. I love the way you were able to weave Oz into Fanstory, or was it vice-versa? You had Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion. I laughed to myself when I saw Wizard Tom on the screen, and I'm sure he did too. Why, now that I think of it, you even had Toto, Dorothy's mutt. He was your dog, Otto.
This should do very well in the contest. Good Luck to you, and thanks for sharing your amazing talent.
A few things to look at,
"...I'm going to make it my business to get that win back on my behalf of my departed site-sister." ... (on behalf of my departed sister)

"NitNam17 penned a lovely futuristic (acrostics) called 'In The Land of Robot Snoring'." ...(should it be "acrostic"?)

"Such was the popularity of my win in the challenege..." ...(challenge)

"...that he wanted to use me for promotion purposes." ...(promotional)

I have to wonder who the Fanstory witch is. I know that newbies can be pretty cruel reviewers. But this particular witch sounds like she has been here for quite a spell. Even Wizard Tom wanted her gone. I know it's not me... I'm just one of the mad munchkins!

Super read for this Friday morning!
cheers
Kimbob

This is a really helpful and wonderful review. Those suggestions were not only helpful, but also helped me find two other glaring mistakes. The witch isn't anyone in particular, just a combined version of those 1-3 star reviewers who write such things as: I suppose you did a good job, but I don't like this genre anyway and wouldn't attempt it myself (that was from one this week). I needed to get the Wicked Witches in to match the movie/novel. Thank you, Kimbob. You've restored my faith in reviewers on FS.

I enjoyed this immensely. I love how you wove Fanstory into this and think this is a terrific entry for this contest. I wish you all the best...great work with this one.

Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect for this writing prompt; but when I ready your entry, I no longer had questions. You did an amazing job of weaving FanStory situations into the Wizard of Oz script. This is deserving of the highest accolades.

Oh you writer, you...My first instinct was not to gush over your work....That said...I am going to , anyway. You are just so good! I try to imagine myself as the author of a piece I admire. If I think I could have written it, great. I could not have written yours...peace, oh writer-friend.

After some lack lustre pieces this week, I'm honoured and delighted to have you review this with such enthusiasm. It is a fun piece and was actually easy to connect with FS as the site is such a mixture of fantasy and realism. Your six and wonderful comments have given me a great lift on an afternoon when I'm struggling to prepare a written summary for my annual professional review.

Damn! This is amazing. Hahaha. You've got me scared to enter my own contest!! I absolutely love this. I don't know if I believe the WILD fantasy ending where you log out of OzStory and walk out into the real world! Is there really another world out there? Great stuff. mikey

Thank you, Mikey. I read through a list of the 100 greatest films of all time, and this jumped out at me because of its fantasy world setting. The other one that made sense to me from the precis was 'Citizen Cane'. This is the blurb:Following the death of a publishing tycoon, news reporters scramble to discover the meaning of his final utterance. I don't know if you think that would make a good one. Glad you enjoyed the entry. Thanks for a great review.

I started to do FanStory Redemption, based on Shawshank. But, I fell off the deep end even for me. Hahaha. We'll see. Maybe something will occur to me. Yours is so damn good though...

Hi, Mark.
This is a great movie parody, with such humour and whimsical names. Very clever the way you wove the site into the story. I liked the three clicks of the cursor to return to the "real world." Your last paragraph is great, seeing for one of the rare times, people in the non-virtual world.
Best of luck in the contest!
Bye
Rosalyne :)

Thank you, Rosalyne. You've reminded me of some of the good things in the story. I hadn't remembered including them. Such a long piece. Appreciate your great review.

Some of the colourful phrases you used and the non de plumes, kept making me giggle all the way through, such as apart from Ausland shire, nitnam17" arscecrow 101, niolmunch121234, I can't believe, it had me in stitches, you must have had you tongue stuck in the top of your head, well done, well written, blessings, Roy.

The top of my head has taken a good lickin', and my brain has retreated to let the wounds heal. HaHa. Thank you, Roy. You're the first reviewer to acknowledge those finer points of literary skulduggery that I so enjoyed outting in place. Glad you got a kick out of it. Thanks for a great review and for styaing the journey.

I'm happy with it, yet there's something not working with it. If you can enlighten, I'd appreciate it. Thank you for your kind words.
