A lovely series of quatrains with a unique subject choice.
The use of anapestic meter and inverse abac rhyme is quite effective.
Once again a stunning image choice.
On long drives, with children, I have felt driven around the bend but in a totally different way. Lol.

What a lovely picturesque curve; well penned stanzas to complement nature's art;
Long drives eased by autumn's beauty;
"river or a road":
"byways interplay";
Be it curves or mundane roadways, bright scenery always helps pass the time in colorful fashion.

You may be a good writer Mr T but I, like your wife, would not trust you around a bend. Good rhythm and flow. Great pict to go along with it as well.

This poem reminds me of a time when I was desperate to get fuel and the gas station was always right round the bend. But it wasn't and I had to walk a few miles to get gas. Well done, Tom.

And I too was wrong often but, if you are at all like me, never stopped for directions- no way. Of course never have to deal with that anymore, not even "are we there yet?" Thank God for GPS.

Thanks for catching the bend in the road and the fall foliage in your photograph. You are to be forgiven for misjudging how long the bends will be--you are clearly absorbed by the beautiful surroundings. Your rhyme scheme and rhythm support your theme and mood well. Happy trails- Joan

    Not too many bends in our road for Thanksgiving--this will be our 7th annual, daylong train trip along the coast of California to San Luis with turkey dinner served in the dome car on the return leg. Enjoy the holiday- Joan

Hi, Treischel,

Beautiful photo. It just pulls you in to the scene.

You're right about that next bend in the road---it can be a long and winding road til that next bend!

Great poem and presentation. Thx for sharing.

Cheers & Blessings
