Nicely penned tribute, Kay. I like that, throughout the Commonwealth, Remembrance services pretty much follow the same pattern. They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old.

Your words have much meaning and I like how you mention mothers in your poem. My father served three years of combat in WWII so Veteran's Day as it is called in the US means much to me.

Nicely written, Aussie. We, too, in Canada celebrate Remembrance Day. Something we all need to remember is the sacrifice these men suffered for freedom. Good job in writing about this day, hour, and date.

Hi Aussie

A lovely tribute to those who fought and remained behind ... a remembrance of all who fight in any war to preserve our way of life and our freedoms. All's the pity we haven't learned a better way to resolve our differences.

Excellent expression of strong sentiments and presentation.

I guess one thing we can share ... we all honour those who fight for us ... and that's both sides of the battleground. I found it hard to feel so softly spoken and expressed my tribute in a more bloody way ... at least most understood my compassion and tribute despite my anger and frustration.
A great poem as always. I know you never forget. Well done my friend. Hugs - Lovi xoxoxo

This is a beautiful tribute to the fallen soldiers and those who are still with us.
Each country honors their own, for the gift of freedom.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts so poetically nancy
