I love this poem, I feel this way so often. Why refuse a free gift that gives only life and prefer a life of darkness. These days darkness is applauded. The bible said good would become bad and evil good. People would agree with what was evil and encourage it. We sure see that today where speaking out almost gets you destroyed as they demolish you on tweeter, actually calling for the death of some. It is very sad. Well done. Rox

Your poem is well written, and it speaks very clearly about your belief and dedication to your faith. But because some people do not follow the same path of spirituality, does not mean their lives are meaningless and that they are bad people.

Well done Mary

You are right, Mary, I have many friends who live loving and happy lives. They help others less fortunate than themselves and never go to church, and are the most wonderful people to know. My words were directed more to the people who hate and despise goodness, who do anything they can to hurt, maim, and destroy innocent people. We have seen lots of these examples lately, not just in our time, but since the beginning of time. There have always been worshipers of evil. Thank you so much for your review, Mary, and your thoughts on my words. :) Sandra

I love your presentation of this beautiful poem, Sandra. Your quatrains are well written and the enjambment makes the flow magical. I do have a suggestion for you ... in verse two, you need to capitalize a "he"'and a "me".
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

I thought this was just beautiful. I loved the single lines - they stood out and summed up the message of the previous verses. I thought you conveyed such beautiful truth in a lyrical and poetic way. Congratulations on a job well done.

I very much admire and respect your strong faith, even though I don't share your high esteem of God, who I believe, if he/she/it exists, mostly neglects suffering on Earth.

EXTREMELY WELL WRITTEN.

Best wishes, Ray. xx

I know what you are saying and understand completely. I have another poem on here at the moment that does question those very things, called, 'Where are you God?' The atrocities some are forced to live with, does make you question God at times. Thank you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your thoughts with me. :) Sandra

I believe He did know the mind of man - after all, God created man. Evil is running rampart and still we cling to the Rock of our faith. The darkness will dissipate and His golden light will shine through. We need to hang on in the bad times and some blame god for their bad times or loss. God is not the reason for how low some fall - man was given free will. Now look at the state! Never give in to negativity, I know it is hard, He is still the same as He was yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

I agree with you , Kay. And I can understand why people would turn away from God when something dreadful happens in the lives, a child dying...but they soon return because they can't face life without Him. At the same time, others are drawn closer to God because of their need to know He is watching over them. Thank you so very much, Kay, for your thoughtful and lovely review, and for the shiny 6 stars. :) Sandra

Good use of some rhymes.
A well crafted poem about the goodness of God with the ending of His son to bring salvation to mankind.
A pity some will not accept it
