I may be a newbie,(Less than one week), but I know what I like in Poetry. I haven't figured out much about this site but I believe I have found friends who not only get each others work but like it. I have never seen anything like this site for encouragement outside of close friends and family. B U T . . . My purpose is to rate "Gu Brath An Ar Gradh" This Poem is so flawless from beginning to end. It starts with the title and tells us a story succinctly and cleanly. There is nothing superfluous or contrived in it: Boom, Boom, Bam!

This poem will make the angels take an awkward pause. Evidently, you were close to the Celtic warrior, more than most. A heap of research must had went into this masterpiece. A lot of things that i did not know. This is a truly learning experience for me. I do have some Scottish ancestry from the clan of Fondren. I must say, this even surpasses my poem I dedicated to her. 'Tango Dancer'I called it. My nickname for Maureen was Tango Dancer. She once told me that she took dancing classes and did a mean tango. From that point on I called her Tango Dancer. She called me wacky. I only got five stars to give, but if I had twelve hundred, you and she would get them. She is out of her coma, and I hope for a speedy recover, and I hope she does not have to suffer. This poem is one of a kind. You took boo coo loads of time with this poem. Personal things I did not know of. You are a dedicated knight of the castle she abides. This is a jewel, in my mind... wacky

Yep, she is. I recognized your extra effort. I have to do research on some projects. You need to -- to debunk some reviewers that are wrong. God bless you for your support! Always with respect, wackydo

Another beautiful testament to Maureen, a truly loved and inspirational lady. Dare I say I knew she could come back to us? I just hope and pray it is for a long, long time. Your wonderful poem lets her and her fantastic children know how much she is loved. Well done!

I have finally caught up for the moment. Thank you for your tribute to our Warrior Woman and your salute to her Celtic roots. I was thrilled to read that Maureen awoke from her coma--maybe, she heard your words--your references to her beloved "Highlands" and "The Shadow" have the power to do just that. Your rhymes and the Gaelic refrain are perfect and speak for all of us. Warm regards- Joan

Yes, she has walked those cosmic pathways with a warriors stride, a battle that few of us could hope to survive. Maureen is a warrior in every sense of the word. Great use of Gaelic!

Though I admit I never got to know Maureen very well, she is obviously a much loved person and gifted poet on site - proven by the numerous well-deserved and caring posts in her tribute.
With respect - 2nd line, maybe forget the perfect rhyme and go for the more grammatically correct proximate rhyme of 'tunes'.
Very thoughtful Gaelic terms to reflect her heritage.
Excellent post.
Best wishes, Ray.
