A beautiful prologue about your life and your relationship with God. You made me curious how you will continue. I can see it might take some time.

I havee been writing my story through the last 10 years and have many stories to tell, Just need to put it all in an order that will make sense to the reader. It is my hope the story will not disappoint, and will give people pause to think about how our lives affect each other.

Thank you for sharing. Thankyou for the expression of rose fragrance which helps us cope with the thorns...that are given so we grow. I think when we reach heaven it's the thorns that will have gotten us there
I wish I could give you a hug
God bless

in the eyes of some, to do - add the comma
Patricia, a thoughtful prologue to your book. You convey your beliefs sincerely and let your reader know of the struggles you've had along your faith journey. Many people have had the kinds of self doubts and questions you express, so I'm sure they will be eager from reading your prologue to learn about what you have had to overcome and how God has helped guide you. Thank you Brooke for the kind review. It is my sincere desire that my faith will show through in my life as I move along with the story. Struggles, yes there have been many, but God has always kept me in those times by His mighty hand. Thank you for the comma suggestion, The correction was made.

Excellent prologue telling the beginnings. Liked the poem you put in this as it brought the piece together. Good concept using thorns and roses. Like life the roses give love and fragrance and the thorns give pain and suffering. A lovely piece of work which will unfold into passages showing your life and the strength you found in God. Genya

    Psalm 37:4

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Thank you Genya. Each day I get a verse for the day and this is my verse for today. It is the desire of my heart to write my story. How wonderful is that of God to have given me this verse on this very day when I submitted the beginning of my story.

I love the picture of our lives as a gift wrapped box waiting to be opened. Life is such a puzzle isn't it. Full of paradoxes that only the Lord can understand. Without him it is puzzle that cannot be solved.

Hi. I saw your post in the forum and wandered by. I love the title, very clever and meaningful. This is an excellent prologue. I'm hoping that you continue to add poetry along the way. I have always done that when I write prose and I've known a couple other authors that have done that as well. I think it is very effective. You lead up to your lovely poem perfectly and I think it says a lot in a way that surprises the reader and certainly keeps their attention. An exciting start. Just some advice. The prologue and first chapter is your best chance to get a following. It's difficult to get a following for a book. If ever you were to promote something to the front page, I would recommend that you do so with this piece right here. Just a thought. Well done. mikey

I do intend to add poetry as I have written so much and I know without a doubt it was given to me by God Himself. So to add the poetry will bring praise to Him. I hve my poetry in a binder and the binder is entitled God Given Poetry
I have been a speaker for Christian women's groups and I know all to well our opening words are important.
As an avid reader if a writer does not catch my attention in the first couple of chapter, I have a hard time following. So thanks for you welcomed advice and thank you for the really nice review. Blessings, Pat

BTW I get a verse of scripture in my e-mail each day amd the following is the verse I got today.

    Psalm 37:4

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
