Ah, yes, the scary penguin, complete with creepy music. You never disappoint, Dean, you're a natural born entertainer. Now you can't even spot a nun in the crowd; they've "mainstreamed" their apparel. Even more frightening. Well done!

    Thanks, GLG, and you're right. They are now like the terrorists we fight, blending in with the rest of the surrounding populace, LOL.

    I truly appreciate your comments and review, my friend. :]

    Whoa! That's pretty funny, Dean. Terrorist nuns wielding rulers and paddles. Step aside, Al-Qaeda.

We called them penguins in the old days! My haven't things changed - different habits now (pun on purpose.) What a shocker Sr Greene is - she looks like a cousin of Dracula. I got a giggle from this. Thanks Dean!

    Hah! Different habits is right, Aussie. Now, nuns wear more mainstream clothes to blend in with everyone else. But to me, that is even more horrifying, LOL.

    Thanks for the kind comments. :}

    I don't think the Pope would blend in to a crowd, wearing a dress! Still, some how or other, I like the little squirrel. LOL XX

That is one gruesome illustration! :-)
strong rhyming couplets
good syllable count for the minute poem
strong verb choices to begin your scary imperative statements :-) Brooke

This is yet another macabre and spine chilling poem that the author has created with this piece of work. Luckily, I didn't have nuns as teachers because I was brought up as Church of Ireland. This nun seems creepy anyway.

Really Dean, you're such a wimp. Lol.
Nuns are people just like us. Well! sort'a like us.
I loved the poem and I had the utmost respect for the nuns during my ten years of private schooling. They did seem as though from another realm. The older they were the scarier they became and...the stories us little folk were told by mean siblings etc.
I never met Sister Greene thankfully but I think I may have met some close associates.

    I know I am, Shirley, heh-heh..., and I don't try to deny it, either.

    Nuns just freak me out, I can't really say why. Maybe it's all of the horror movies I watch? That could have an effect, you think? But lots of horror movies use nuns for a reason, so I suppose I'm not alone in my assessment.

    Thanks so much for the review. :}

Well growing up in Catholic school by nuns - I know this is not a work of fiction but a glimpse into my 7th grade science class. LOL

I concur, i went to a catholic school for nine years. I had my silly hand smacked by a ruler several times. They also forced feed you -- made you eat all of your food on the tray. They nabbed us hiding food in empty milk pints. Still, they forced the prunes and whatever into our gullet. That was some creepy sounding, hair raising tunes. I like the artwork you found for this sister poem. it's gothic looking and creepy! half of my nun teachers are probably pushing up daylilies by now. We visited the convent every Wednesday and went to mass. Great lookin' poem, Spooky. Used up my last nuggets. Count your doubloon. spook-a-doo

    Got to earn some more member cent pumps before I can post a chapter. I got to get my first chapter on the front page or I won't get many reviewers. Got to nip it in the bud! Hope you are recovering from that nasty flu.

    I'm almost over it now. I still feel pretty weak, though. I think I'll live.

    I know what you mean about having to highly promote your work. It takes a lot of reading and reviewing to save up enough dough to get it up the charts. I am the same way.

    My last novel, which still needs to be completed, I did not promte high enough. Basically, I had the same numbers of reviewers from beginning till end. Basically, I don't want to get stuck in a mud hole, again, so I must review. Need them free pumps. My chapter is ready, but I will tinker some more before her releash. Got until Nov 28th to post the other two chapters. later Spooky... boo...

I love the Nuns. Most of them are godly women who are trying to teach and care for the little ones, or the sick. If you think nuns are creepy, you must have your wires crossed with your photos that you place on your posts. They are CREEPY!
Well done!
