I went to public school, but heard a lot of rumors about the nuns who taught in Catholic School. So grateful my parents didn't send me and my sisters there. I don't think I would have done as well.

Hey Dean,
I'm just curious, did you go to a Catholic grade school or high school? I did. I was also an alter boy but never molested. The church, the priests' home, the convent were all close by. What I perceived was that the priests lived quite well, they had a car, big bedrooms with fireplaces and a house keeper. The nuns had these little austere cubicles that were their bedrooms. I'm not a practicing catholic but I thought the nuns were OK. There were three in particular that I remember in a very positive way.
Concerning your fear of nuns, with me it's clowns and mimes. I'm not terrified of them, I just don't like them.
Was there ever really a 'Sister Green'? Sorry about your trauma, but thank you for taking me down memory lane. The poem was excellent and I found your perception of nuns most humorous.

I have also found nuns to be creepy, perhaps it's all that repressed sexuality, and the holier than thou attitude. They are often difficult people to be around. This is a great piece, well worth the read.

Yes, I had one in particular, that I feared when attending parochial school for 8 yrs. She though, I know loved who she was, that role of a nun just suited her fine....Though, for me, she wasn't hiding who she was really was, behind that habit....My older sister, ten years my senior had some, nuns that were almost like your poem suggests, & know that you can't elaborate very much in this Minute entry...The Catholic religion is a beautiful religion though quite a few of the nuns of the Past were, in my opinion mentally unstable.

Exactly, Caressa! That's what I always thought, too. I'm happy to know that I am not alone there.
Thanks so much for the outstanding review, my friend. :)

This would have done equally well in your recent ghoulish contest! Creepy! ...and the sound track suddenly cut in to take me by surprise! Sent quite a chill through the bones, I can tell you! You are a master of the macabre!

This is creepy. In general, nuns are creepy as well. Nicely done, Dean Kuch. The presentation does its job by setting the stage.

Halloween and religion. What's next? Burning witches? Oops! Christianity's been there, done that. Like how you've styled this. Looks excellent on the screen. Well crafted. Good luck with the contest. Les

Nice and creepy, Dean. Couldn't concentrate on the poem. Don't know how to turn music off. Nice creepy music with too much noise.

Dean, though I was not raised Catholic, I too have heard of many abusive things done at the hands of the nuns. To me it is not Christ-like to be His emissary on earth and be so mean. Just sayin. Well done with creepiness. :0 GracieAnn

I could have used her in my classroom today. I would have gladly sacrificed my beastly sixth graders who were beyond the pale in naughtiness and general bad behavior. Very fun halloweenish read. Kind of reminded me of the wailing woman from Mexican legend and lore. Old nuns can be creepy...
