Terrific description here.--witch-fingered trees. The last verse made me smile remembering all the old jack o' lanterns on our porch when my children were small. This was a fun poem with a nice sing-song quality, one children would love read to them out loud. Good luck in the contest.

I like the color of the text. It is like the light that shines from the pumpkin. The image is perfect for your words. The rhyme scheme is good. It helps with the flow which is good, too. I see no changes. You did a good job explaining the life of a pumpkin from seedling to a has been jack-o-lantern. Good luck in the contest.
