For many of us, lucky ones, the closest we have ever come to experiencing such trauma, is in he reading of its horror, as you have so vividly depicted in this poem.

This poem gave me chills. I remember stories from my Grandfather before he sent my Grandmother to the States. He stayed behind and lived out the horror. Very well done.

Your poem flows very well from point to point.
It is historical and memorable. The sirens probably would stick in my head, like the days when I was young and we had air raids.

Hi deepwater, hard to forget...we are still going through it...only in different ways...I hate war...I hate the innocent being bombed...for what reason???...this is a touching poem...tears...story well told...reminder of once was...very well written...picture heart breaking...Luff Linda xxoo

Very vivid portrayal of the events that happened. The photo is outstanding. I like the flow, tone, and structure. I feel the fear, anxiety, and hear the chaos. "I relate to man can survive every turmoil and strife." What a blessing to get threw the terrorizing situation. thanks

A sad, sad story. Shelter in a cupboard under the stairs. Such is war. Innocents living nightmares and live to tell. You did a wonderful job writing about this horror. I hope it never happens again. But it is in some places in the world. How much more sad, when we know this is going on.
And nothing we can do but pray.
