Bev, if I had ten stars to give, you'd have them. This was an absolutely thrilling chapter, with a fitting ending for Father Brian.

You had me utterly captivated from "moving in the manner of a recuctant puppet", to the very end.

Your last statement was tearfully beautiful. "Remember always . . . every mistake is undone by Grace."

Your writing is hitting on all cylinders these past couple of months, and are skillfully bringing this story to a dramatic, meaningful conclusion. Excellent, Bev.

Hi, Marietta. Thank you so much for this awesome review! I've still got another little twist up my sleeve, but after that a few questions cleared up for the readers and it's done. So appreciate your grand review, my friend. Your words touch my heart. Hugs, Bev

I'm glad you explained the difference between possessed and totally evil. M. Scott Peck gave a good intro.
I thought you clever with your use of words - stuffing the dynamite and then Sniper don't give a rat's ass. Must be a word for linking sentences with the same type of situation? Huh? Dat's me, silly old lady. You would know about the terrible haunting called Amityville - even the priest couldn't exorcise the power and he was killed. If it wasn't so dangerous...fascinating evil is. Too dangerous to play with. Shape shifters are the ones to look out for and so many so-called innocents today, they belong to Legion. Our ancestors look after us (just like Brian's long-dead mother) if people would only realise there is no death, transformation to another form. We are all pure energy. Thanks for sharing - most enjoyable Mrs Monster!

Yes, that situation with Amityville got a lot of bad press and reached a point of controversy, but few people realize that the house was built on land that was considered 'evil' by the Native Americans. Like you, I believe our Ancestors do a great deal on our behalf from the other side. Love the moniker - Mrs. Monster.

Thanks so very much, Kay, for both your generosity and support.

I'm sorry I haven't read all chapters but this one
caught my interest from the beginning, sign of a
good writer. It was rather scary at times but this
is what makes interesting. I will be waiting for the
next chapter.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

What a climax. Bullets flying with abandon in a dynamite riddled cave, a demon doing its worst and a group of innocents caught in the crossfire. Excellent work.
It wasn't hard to catch up to what was going on in this chapter. The priest's guilt and resolve was evident in both his actions and dialogue. I could feel his need to save Rick and get rid of the dog-like demon.
There was no advice I could offer on this piece, it all worked so well. I just sat back and enjoyed the read.

What a great story. I really like this. You did a superb job writing this. It seems to be posted under the incorrect genre. It's more gothic, isn't it? I just read the one chapter. I suppose there isn't the proper genre listed. Very enjoyable read. The cross has saved many a life, I have heard, in times gone by.

Hello, Bev. I am surprised to see you didn't win BOM for last two months?? I checked. This is great writing, my friend. Problem on here is, unless somebody is following it, they don't vote at all. (You know) I liked the powerful lines in this chapter.

Suggestion:
"he feared there was a slim window of opportunity to save her life." (Perhaps for more clarity put "only" before the words "a slim"

See you soon, my dear friend. Bob

Hi, Bob. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words and generosity... so very heart-warming to read. Your suggestion is excellent. Always amazes me how one word can change the power of a sentence. I hope to get to that point someday where I can see that more clearly.

    Can't wait for our lunch!

    Big Hug,

I knew I saved a six for some reason. This is masterful, Bev, and so full of action, as well as the wonderful, sentiment in the conclusion. I enjoyed every word!

Don't let Father Brian stay gone! I've enjoyed his character, so I hope you'll bring him back. Lots of tension and excellent imagery in this chapter, Bev. I found your author's notes about exorcism interesting, and I like that you always include descriptions of each of the characters in the chapter for those of us who tend to forget sometimes who is who.
Great job, as always, my friend.
Connie
