Oh my, it appears Father Brian has paid with his life for trying to save Rick. Will Rick survive the cave in? Did Jana manage to get out? So many questions :) Another well crafted chapter.

Gobsmacked, Bev. Completely gobsmacked. An incredible post. Brian's courage and faith is heart-wrenching. The evil of the demon is blood-chilling, and s brilliantly written. Jana - love her. A woman with a noble spirit.

And that ending. Wow. What you describe - the tunnel and people waiting - happened to my aunt, but her mother told her she had to go back, that it wasn't her time.

I wonder if Father Brian will be given the same response. Superb cliffhanger.

Masterful, my friend. Out of the park brilliant.

Bravo!

Love and hugs,

Av

Good job, Bev. Your descriptions and dialogue continue to make this an engaging read. And the action thickens in this scene as the dynamite goes off. I like the added explanation that God's grace covers all, even suicide - a very misunderstood topic in some circles still.

You are so right on about the misguided beliefs on suicide. I think we get second changes, sometimes even more.

Thanks for your support and generosity, BG! :) Bev

Hi, Bev.
What an exciting chapter. This is tension packed with amazing visuals and dialogue! You have done a marvelous job building the action and suspense with each chapter. The death of Father Brian is so well shown. I could see his journey, and the welcoming by his awaiting mother. Bev, this is an incredible story, so rich in character and plot. Awesome write my friend!!!

Hello there~!
That picture certainly gave me the chills... and dragged me here to read this amazing piece. I don't really see any typos or SPAG and I find the story really interesting.
I really love how you use different titles for your works like 'sota' 'wotawe' 'i'he'
Love it!

JazakAllah Khair~!
(God Bless~!)

This is amazing, and I was looking forward to reading it. You really show the conflict between good and evil going on with Rick. At times he seems himself, and then the demon takes over again. The appearance of the demon dog is really frightening, and he really thinks he has the situation going to his advantage. Father Brian is so courageous through it all, and he is more concerned about saving Danika and Rick than himself. You really timed Jan's appearance to greatest advantage. Rick's bullets don't have much effect on the dog, but they do set off the dynamite. Jana still feels compassion for Rick, despite his endangering Danika. judi

I've read Malachi Martin, because M.Scott Peck referred to him in the book "People of the Lie". I was unaware of "Glimpses of the Devil". I must look that up!

"What a feather in your cap to claim the soul of a priest?" Did you mean a question mark or would an exclamation mark be more appropriate???

"She extended her arms as A mother would in offering solace to her child." Insert A.

Great storytelling, Bev. You've got terrific pace and great dialogue going on. Bringing in a bit of the supernatural sets you apart from the usual crime writer. I liked the death scene. Great writing, Bev.

Although I respect Scott Peck, and your opionion, of course, I no longer accept the posssibility of evil as a separate force in the universe. I now believe that all evil is a misunderstanding of life's intent, which is the realization of oneness. But, hey, I'm enjoying your version of it, from your perspective, immensely. Good work, girl.

Hi, Adrienne. Thanks for the editing suggestions, my eagle-eyed friend. And I much appreciate your very generous and encouraging review.

I think you would find Dr. Peck's book fascinating. Especially since he started out a very skeptical psychiatrist. We actually have a psychiatrist in the area who has done a few exorcisms.

It would be grand to have a debate with you over the issue of good and evil. I suspect we would agree more than disagree.

What a great chapter. The movement between characters - the push-pull - was excellent keeping the tension so tight it was about to snap. Great ending to this chapter. Loved the way you took one of Brian's believes and dispelled it, by his mother no less.
