Reads like a true story. Some make the recovery on their own, others are forced to due to health problems, some refuse. Your heroine is illustrious, and serves hope. We see the light of true intelligence shine in her. A positive story, an excellently crafted verse, and a pleasurable read. Kenny

I really enjoyed your wonderful piece and Sophie's as well. Is she a writer here? Both are beautiful but very poignant. Sigh. Wow! So much emotion from both pieces, I almost don't know what to say. Imagery is excellent. You have done an awesome job.

Thanks so much, Barbara :-). She's a singer/songwriter I listened to a lot in my younger years. Her lyrics got me through some very low periods in my late teens and early twenties. I'm so glad you liked this one, my friend :-)

You have an amazing and very skilled use of language. Excellent writing, I saw nothing wrong with the poem at all. It took a few lines to realize the image was the stage of life, but once I did it fit perfectly. I enjoyed reading and thank you for sharing your writing.

A beautiful about someone who has endured trials and affliction, and, like someone who has endured through trial comes out of it profitably, because they endured, I loved this well written work that is written with great descriptive imagery, well done, blessings, Roy.

I was thinking this was a prostitute who may have been introduced to drugs and that was her courage to live that kind of lifestyle. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it read to me. It sounded like she may have overdosed and then had an epiphany that would change her life. Just my interpretation. LOL
