Moving right along, Bev. I'm a bit confused. Rick has a sister who is in danger and maybe this step to the dark side has to do with saving her???

Yes, that's it Adrienne. You're not the only one to mention the sister confusion. It goes to why Rick has resorted to this desperate move now that he can't get paid for being a snitch on behalf of one of the victim's sons (M. Buell).

Now that you've got the shoot first talk later boys involved, things can get a lot worse for Fr Brian, Rick and Jana. I wouldn't trust the FBI's SWAT team to get it right as they're dealing with spectral forces they can't shoot - but they can do a lot of damage to everyone else.

I swear you're reading my mind, Patrick. I'll bet you know how stories are going to end halfway through movies? I do that all the time and it drives my husband crazy.

The sister is only coming out in this chapter, Sweet. It's been a bit confusing so will re-think my approach when I edit this chapter. Thanks for sharing and caring enough to review so generously.

Jana still has faith in Rick, and I think she suspects he's possessed. Now I wonder who the dark figure in the cave is? Father Brian perhaps? Another great chapter that is well written with no obvious errors. Good job.

Thank you so much, CR. Yes, it's Father Brian in the cave and Jana is on her way. The only two people, at this point, who care what happens to Rick. When a cop goes bad, it's hard for everyone to fathom. And most would not accept the fact that a man can be possessed by a demonic influence. My point with Brian and Jana is that they represent cultures that understand the very real danger of such phenomenon.
