I think you have definitely have a ministry in horror, Dean, I need to check on you and report back to your Pastor! I happen to have an extensive knowledge of sci-fi, and it's all its incumbent varieties! I used to read all the classics. Well written, I wish I could use these animations like you can, your cleverness knows no bounds! Great poem, Dean, loved it, blessings, Roy.

Great pic with aliens replacing the surgeons in that famous old painting, Dean.
I've become interested in aliens and UFOs lately, and watched quite a bit of discussion and videos on 'You tube'.

Many think the aliens are prolific and are simply here to observe us like animals in a zoo.

There are masses ov videos of UFO,s, particularly on the far side of the moon, though I realise many are probably fake. NAASA astronauts testify to many sightings, and many contributors think the US and UK governments, among others, KNOW of their existence and have even communicated with them.

Anyway, I ramble on.

Excellent write here, and most in top poetic meter, too, except for:

'Imagine our shock and surprise'.

Top serious questions of our reactions, and also lots of fun.

Here's a sixer.

Cheers, Ray

Dean;
yes I did see this episode being a sci-fi freak I remembered this quite well because it played more than once.
As your poem did this episode just this in your multiple pictures of auto-animation Was quite effective in getting your story across.
The imagination was superbly creative and extremely inventive and Leah imagery was demonstratively descriptive and dexterously expressive throughout.
Your rhyming couplet quatrains rhyming was neither forced nor labored and your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout the poem which made it easy for me to read your poem clearly.
What a fun and amusing fantasy like piece of poetry that I enjoyed reading very much.
Thank you so much for sharing and posting this for everyone and may all your endeavors be good ones especially in the future.
Alex

Thanks, Barb, and it really did on my mind too! It scared the heck outta me. I was only about nine, but I recall the fear I felt as if it were only yesterday. I never thought I'd grow up to write those sorts of things, yet here I am! Thanks for the exceptional rating, too! All are greatly appreciated.

Hello Dean, well , well, you my friend have a dynamic brain, that Hollywood is so unfortunate not have discovered you to write down horror stories, or Aliens, to be converted into a movie. My friend Dean, I am not joking, you have it all in that brain of yours, its still not late to do something about it. Young man, for heavens sake, go for it. You can make it happen. You are so entertaining, and brilliant. I just offered my last six star to Ritchie. So as usual accept my Canadian stars to shine above you. Love Terry. xoxo

A fan of the Twilight Zone since childhood, I have watched most episodes many times, including "To serve man. " Thanks for another enjoyable poem. :-)

Brings a new meaning to Thanksgiving. So, does this mean that the humans in essence would be the same as the Native Americans. We'll have lunch together then push you out? Something interesting to think about definitely. I don't remember seeing that episode of Twilight Zone. Anyway nice poem!

You can watch all old reruns of the Twilight Zone on YouTube, 'D', full, commercial free, and in the entirety.. Check it out, "To Serve Man".

Thanks for the review, my friend!

I've been having problems watching videos online lately. I don't know if I need to upgrade something, but when I watch videos they have problems playing, but if I minimize the screen it plays for some reason. When I get it working again I'll look it up.

Your poem I did read and it made my sides quake
the more that I thought of it I started to shake
to think this would happen with current administration
caused my heart and mind great trepidation
if the aliens landed and scouted about
I have little doubt of being sold out
though easily we could defeat them, I swear
just sign them all up for obamacare

:)
That came to me as soon as I finished reading your poem.
I loved it, especially the imagery of a bunch of aliens sitting around dressed as pilgrims, eating a human. Once again you've horrified and amused at the same time. Excellent.

it is amazing how the Twilight Zone (30 minutes) scared the crap out of us and it was in B & W. The simplest of situations embellished our senses and filled our heads with that insane music. And the whole time we could not tear our eyes away from it. I was 11 when that one came out. Kids now days want guts and gore, very little sense of imagination of things that creep under your skin or stand over you in the dark.

As always, your poetic stories punch with eeriness and intrigue setting the reader up for a creepy ending and enhanced with character animation to take the edge off.

Bravo, my friend..... Linda

Thanks, Linda, and you're absolutely right. There is a great difference between slasher stuff and true horror. They are nowhere near the same thing.

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me on this.

favorite episode: either the hospital w/ the woman whose face was covered because she was hideous (pig faced doctors) or airplane monster. Third eye guy was pretty good , too
reply by the author on 14-Jul-2014
Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder is the one with the lady having unsuccessful plastic surgery in the hospital to make her look, uh-h-h...beautiful?, and Terror at 20,000 Feet with William Shatner of Star Trek fame stars in it. "There's...something out there...on the wing!" LOL...

Yes, tha's an excellent episode too. My favorite is He's no Dummy, about the ventriloquist whose dummy is far more real than people think he is. of course, those darn things give me the creeps anyhow for some reason. UGH!
reply by Linda Engel on 14-Jul-2014
yes, they creep me out big time, too.
