Your story is compelling. Some of us have ailments that defy the medical profession unless they really take the TIME to help us with an accurate diagnosis. In today's world - at least here in the U.S. - doctors are SO obsessed with the bottom line, because it is part of their job description that they are limited to ONLY spending fifteen minutes at a time with their patients. I quietly demand more time and don't let them leave the room until I have complete answers. This new attitude has helped me tremendously over the past few years,

Thanks patty for the lovely review. We are not looking forward to getting a new doc when our current one retires and soon, I think. Thanks for another lovely review.

>>Over the years of many medico's and many hospital admissions and so on, I have come to realise there are 2 main kinds of Doctors around. Firstly, there is the "Hippocratic Oath" Doctor, concerned only for the continuing health of his or her patient.

Secondly, the "Account Doctor", mainly ruled by the bottom line of his/her bank balance sheet. It gets complicated when you have a doctor who is of the Hippocratic Oath kind married to one that is of the Account/Bottom-line kind. Hehe...We were patients of both of them.<<

These two passages reminded me of my own situation after my husband was operated on to remove his brain tumor.
Suddenly friends who practically lounged in our drawing rooms or studies found so much to do with themselves that they stopped even calling over the phone.

Haha, this is a great phrase, " We were patients of both of them. In other words, they are a very selfish kind of person." A fine piece of prose with a pleasing narration. Have a great day. Namaskaram

Hi new friend. Not patients of them at the same time hehe. We started with his wife and then we moved to the husband. He was so much better. As I said she was the Account Doctor, hehe. Thanks for coming by.

I enjoyed reading your thoughts. My husband is on disability and his most of his side of the family has nothing to do with him. The description of the two doctors is true to life. Here is the US, medicine is mostly about money, the old time doctor is rare.

This is a highly enjoyable read and I loved the way that you were able to weave so many ideas together in a seamless fashion. Your thoughts on the different personality types are very interesting and I think that all readers can recognise the two different types of doctors mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks LisaD Nice to meet you. Appreciate your lovely review. There are still some chapters with rewards if interested. Also, I did an intro to my biography some time ago (Not at the start of my writing hehe I was quite a way in before I actually decided to write an Intro.) but sorry no rewards if interested. I promise to reciprocate and look at your stuff too.

An interesting chapter! I know several women who have vertigo, but you are the first male I have known to have the condition. I'm familiar with the temperament styles.

Thanks Sis. We went from having a 110% Choleric (well he had some Melancholy) to a 110% sanguine Pastor. Our new pastor is totally opposite to the previous one. Thanks for the review.

Some counselors still look at those temperaments. I look at love styles in avoider, people pleaser, vacillator, controller, and victim. I can usually tell in the first session what someone is. Then, it's the task of getting them to realize it and hopefully, into a healthy love style.

Hi Sis I know we are regular chatters on Facebook I am just coming through for a final review on my biography and saw your review. I knew of Tim m la Haye's books on the Temperaments but I came across an old book yesterday in our cleanout of my book collection the guy speaks about the Temperament types and the book was written in the 40's or 50's maybe psychology used these definirtions of temperament types before they went to Introvert and Extrovert, huh?

A very well-written chapter. Sometimes a person have an illness that is not visible with the eyes. Like back pain, no one can see the pain but the sufferer is in constant pain. Who can say they lie or imagine the pain?

I am pleased to know that you finally learned was was causing the dizziness. I know several people that suffer from vertigo. Families tend to judge and feel qualified to make determinations they are not qualified to make. It is foolish to decide, without any actual experience or knowledge, whether a person has an illness or not. You did a nice job with this chapter. You've had a lot of health issues to deal with. I am pleased it appears you finally have them under control.

Hi Sasha, so far we are doing good with the Vertigo. Louise comes with me mon my walks in case something happens. I had one really bad episode a while ago at our favourite Chinese in Penrith. It was so embarrassing when I threw up after the meal. I LOVE THEIR STUFF! And I did not want them to feel like I was blaming them. Fortunately there was only one couple in the restaurant at the time. Thanks for the great review.

Hi again coming through looking at Reviews to see who of the old reviewers is still on Fs. A lot have left, sadly. Saw this old review from you. I was wondering about cominb back in here and adding I now know the three causes for vertigo in my case anyway. The Hyrdacephalus (FLuid on the Brain I wrote about a while back) The Middle ear problem...I am now off the Doxycyclin tables I was on for that... and lastly the increase in calcification in the neck around the Carotid Artery.....what say you about adding all this in?
reply by Sasha on 30-Sep-2018
I think it would be a great idea to add that t your story. It is important and could be of help to someone with similar problems.

I have added that bit about more recent discoveries on the Vertigo thanks.

You have a good point about people not wanting to listen when you have health problems. My sister has fibromyalgea (not sure on the spelling), and will often be out of work because she hurts so much she can hardly move. Mostly she is receiving enough pain medication to keep her going, but people kept acting like she was making everything up. Everyone but me. I could see the pain she was in.

People tend to be okay with something temporary, but if it goes on too long, well, they check out.

Great chapter,
Rhonda

Yeah I was in a group on Delphi Forums for Fibro Sufferers. I never had Fibro myself but I had a lot of the symptoms and I know here in Australia Docs would not accept fibromyalgia for ages. A bit like they are, here with Lyme disease from Ticks. I am probably messing the spelling too, hehe. Thanks for the great review.

Interesting.

As you say unless problems apply directly to them most people, including family, do not want to be bothered by even hearing about them.

However, if the shoe is on the other foot, theirs, it becomes a completely different story. Then, the subject is all they want to whine about.

Covers this topic, and sentiment, well.
