This is perfect and funny too. I imagine that by the time one book fall atop another, the growler has such a headache he doesn't have time to deal with and upset stomach and a perforated colon from a pirate sword. Ha Ha. I enjoyed the read.

Brooke, this is quite cute. Love the idea a child might think of the book drop absorbing all that is written on the pages of his books.

With my warped mind, I tend to go the other direction and see a leftover demon from Stephen King take up residence in the book depository and...never mind. This is your lovely sweet poem - not my nightmare.

Very much like this. Jean

Thanks so much, Jean, and to think I thought this was scary with thoughts of elephants and pirates confronting each other.
You must really have a dark imagination! LOL Brooke :-)

Brooke, I enjoyed how you turned the book drop into an adventure story... cobwebs, elephants, mountains, peg-leg pirates, skyscrapers and how the book drop gets tummy pains.
Perfect poetry for a youngster.

Nicely done, John

The picture tells us the child is very anxious to grow up and is trying real hard to be a big boy! LOL He is so precious. Cute poem. You contribute a lot to his imagination with your interesting poems and adventures. Love this one. Nancy

Utterly delightful.

So full of whimsy and charm.

Just reading your work is like an answered prayer.

It reaffirms that all is right with the world.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

You are killing me with laughter. Not a bad way to go.
I can always count on you to make me smile. I even like the images you post with your words. Do you copy write? Are you planning or have you already done a children's book? Or a children's book for the child in all adults? Just a thought.

Brooke, This just popped up on my computer with no advance
notice. (My computer was "at rest"and I just hit a key.) I had no idea of the author until I read a few lines and thought,"that sounds like Brooke"" Sure enough when I got to the end, it was written by adewpearl. When I was young I spent a fair amount of time at the libary, plus I had my own lending library. My mother brought home books all the time...books and comics, which I read very carefully before she took them back to the store. It nearly killed me when I was taking college classes and was told to put my short notes in the book margins.

AHHH, how sweet. I am wondering if Miranda reads your beautiful poetry to Sawyer. I can see him smile and giggle when she reads it. He's a very luck child.

Brooke, I do hope you are creating a book of sort for the day when Sawyer and others are at the age of appreciation. You are a poet of the hour in my book. Blessings to you.

It is a good thing to start children off young in reading tales.Soon, the library as we have known it will no longer be in existence. Good job.

You're welcome, Brooke. When was the last time you used the manual catalog to look up a book?
    You're welcome, Brooke. Charlie

my library did away with that card catalogue long ago - I just don't want them doing away with hold-in-your-hand books, especially for children :-)

Look at your selection of E-Books, CD's and video. I haven't used a card catalog in over twenty years.
