I really enjoyed this, Mike. You need to get more into writing stories. This was exquisite. Grabbed my attention and held it throughout the read. Well done. Let me get to the next part. luv jada

Thanks, Jada. I'm concentrating more on my prose at the moment, which certainly paid off in recent contests. Need to get my next book written too!

Thank you, Nancy :-). It's strange, reading this with new eyes. I think everyone should leave writing aside for at least a few months before editing it. Of course, it's never that easy!

Mike,
Dreamed of chocolate? LOL Let's hope not. Yum! Now you're making me hungry for chocolate. LOL Easy to read and follow. Spaggies:

the smile got even broader(change got even broader to broadened). "Are you the new jester?"

Now, I appreciate that (what I just said) probably made no sense to you

Imagery is excellent. Can't wait to read more!
Love,
Barbara

Thanks again, Barbara. I see you've managed to dig out a spaggie or two in each chapter - valuable editing eyes :-).

    Mike,
You are very welcome. Yeah, the only bad thing is that I can't turn it off. It doesn't matter what I read, I want to edit. Oh well, there are worse habits. Hope you're doing well.
    Love,

excellent examples of non-verbal communication in your chapter opening
I love the modern touch of its being an app LOL
I really like the conversation between the cook and the time travelling cook - he is so likable, and I love his attitude about interacting with this woman from the past
Brooke :-)

Thank you, Brooke :-). I had to use an app as soon as I thought of it. Plus, it's a Mike touch to go with the unfamiliar romance! So happy you liked it.

What fun! I just love this and thoroughly enjoyed the cooking lesson. I do hope he comes back and helps Miss Lizzy again...I find Lord Winsome an arrogant fellow and do hope Miss Lizzy can create a meal he cannot criticize. I enjoyed this immensely and look forward to the next part.

"I hope you enjoyed part two of the adventure :-).

Mike"

Indeed Mike, this was indeed a fun, entertaining read. In the best of worlds you would have a third or a fourth chapter that would help resolve the issues between Lizzy and Winsome (which is ironic wordplay if ever I heard of it). Like a big batch of X-Lax chip cookies. Only meaningful if you have X-lax in England.

You are a gifted writer, Mike. You make it all look a lot easier than I'm sure it was.

Hehe, we don't have X-lax but the name makes it pretty darned obvious what it is. We have 'sennacot' instead, which isn't much more subtle, lol. Glad you enjoyed it, Jay. Part three very soon.

X-lax is a wonderfully chocolatey laxative. All it takes is a square of it (about the size of a small fingernail. Package has to be kept away from young children. That tasty. You might guess many a mischievous teen took up baking chocolate-chip cookies!

I'll be looking for part 3!

Great descriptions. I could taste the hot chocolate. YUMMMM. This is another six worthy post. I just don't have a six for it.

Bringing the gift of chocolate to the middle ages- that's akin to Promtheus brining the gift of fire. And as in all time travel stories, there has to be a consequence. In the case of chocolate probably an early Renaissance. Very well-written and highly original. I don't know if peasant boy Raff would know the word "vernacular" though.

hehe, thank you. I've no idea why Raff knows that word, but it felt totally appropriate for some reason :-/. Time travel does seem to be logically impossible because it either get's caught in an infinite loop or causes a paradox. It's good fun to write about though.

I wonder if she'll offer any of the chocolate to the lord and his family. I doubt he would have any respect for her, but the girls might like the sweet treat. Guess we'll see in part three.

A sensual episode, sensual, even. Love the dialog and the images it conveyed of such. The man gets excited about his cooking, and takes it serious. I especially enjoy the language. Kenny

Thank you, Kenny :-). I enjoyed writing the dialogue between these two - it was fun, having her speak more formally and him using modern London dialect. Really glad you liked it.
