I thought it was fitting that he should compare himself to a snake when he is lying and sneaking around.
I wonder how this will work out. You leave enough questions to keep the reader turning pages. Good work: )

You've done a great job showing Rory's longing to assure his father will be out of the house. I really like how you have put Dean's faith of honesty and belief in Rory, " A man's word is about all he's got in my book." This is a great line, and setup for Rory to consider before he follows through with taking the truck.

You get inside Rory's innermost thoughts well as he battles with his conscience when he is lying first to Charla and then to Dean, his dad. I can feel the pull of what he intends to do holding him back from doing the right thing - I sure hope this date is worth it :-) Brooke

I went to dad and he said Ask your mother so Ii just started getting ready and went on to join my friends. It was a long walk to town and need I say Dad came to get me before I was half way there. I was in double Dutch trouble. I didn't lie but I was sneaky about it, I didn't do it again. I was grounded and had to attend every church meeting all week. They acted like I had lost their trust. I had good parents. Well nuf said. Can't wait to see what Rory does. Devil or Angel, which will it be. LOL Nancy
