I read this briefly and as a review it is half-done, for I am too prejudiced and will not find fault with any salute
to our fighting men.

The member who created this contest clearly states that our entry must be a POEM to a fallen hero, past or present. Why they have been placed in the prose category by said contest creator is not my fault. My entry went where the contest placed it.

    Thank you for your review.

Stories/poems like these are sad. You wrote from your heart and the soldier is hearing your words each time someone reads your poem. It's men like him that we all should be grateful for and to. If it weren't for our brave soldiers through history, who knows where we would be.

Peace and prayers to the family. John

Yes, they are, very sad indeed, and thank you John. I don't know why these entries are in a prose category, but that is where they've been placed by the member who has created the contest. It clearly states in the rules that it is to be a poem. So, that's what I've tried my best to do, honor Will's memory.

I appreciate your kind review and very generous rating, and we all welcome your heartfelt prayers.

Truly moving. The music was the final straw that actually made me cry. I have a son and niece in the military. I can only imagine what you went through.

The poem was so well written - I especially liked the line:

who's died for freedoms left undone...

The music along with the poem really set the somber mood of homage due our heroes in the military who fight in unspeakable horrors so we can live freely at home.

God bless!
Well done

It moved me to tears, how awful that such young men had to lose their lives in a distant foreign country. Well chosen rhymes and words to convey your heartfelt message. Honourable tribute. Hope you don't mind, I spotted two errors (same word twice) Verse 1 first line and verse 2, line 2- it should be bugler. Good luck in the contest. Faye
