Michael: well written. You have made several points which are so true, especially that here, everyone understands why we write and the importance. My partner says I am just playing and spend too much time on the computer and on this site. I answer that I take my writing seriously, it is like a job to me; it is who I am and what I am about. Again, thanks for writing and posting this. God bless and cherish those who have left us. Linda

Mikey, truly an excellent tribute and laudation to a wonderful woman who wrote great poetry and songs. Being a songwriter myself sometimes would write reviews that would help her to write some of her songs better even though most of the songs were done quite well. The potential precedes herself in your writing shows that she will really be missed.
Cookie333 Or Karen, 9999poole (Ritchie) Were supposed to do an elaborate three piece poem together And then I never heard from her. Thank you for sharing a posting this lovely assortment of great words of wisdom with all of us. And may the Lord be with you always with your endeavors to follow.

Well said and a reminder and insightful on many levels. I don't think I ever got to meet Pam through her works or her reviews, but you've brought her spirit back to us. Loren

I so agree with you Mikey. We do have true friends here and I think we all need to tell our family that if something happens to us they need to contact Fanstory.

Thanks for sharing this, dear friend.
Pam will most certainly be missed. And she is loved here by many. She's one of my first fans here! Known her for ages. Had no idea she was ill.
Of course, you're right--the Fanstorian friendships are deeper than many 'real-life' friendships because writers pour hearts and souls into their words and we end up on intimate terms with the INNER LIFE of our friends--which is far deeper than the mundane day to day external aspects of life.
Thanks for reminding me of Songbyrd--and what a lovely quote from her poetry, too.
Let's hope that some disappearances are not due to death but moving on to other places in the writing world...or just long muse-vacations or life circumstances.
But there is no doubt that one day, we all will die, sooner or later...and it is a doorway into light, not darkness.
Love and blessings to all who have passed, to all who remain here and to all yet to arrive...
Hugs, rd

I cannot agree with you more, this is an excellent article that I truly believe most of us here completely agree with you. I use to communicate with Gungalo every "good morning" and "good night". She used to be a late morning sleeper, when suddenly she answer my "good morning". at sunrise
bad "allergies and asthma " she said, went to Dr, but medicine didn't help, then she disappear, and the serious worry started, no answer to personal E Mail... until I Raven gave the tragic news... I never knew Songbird, so I can imagine how you feel. Yes, we are true friends with many here... We won't forget... Good advise , Have somebody to let FS know about us, GUNGALO did it for me when was hospitalized... Hugs

Hi Michael Cahill,
I think all of us were saddened to hear of Gungalo's death, but we should also consider that lung cancer is an awful illness. We should remember her with kindness, and in the hope she is in a better place, free of the cancer.
This is a nice tribute to her.

Hi Mikey,
I completely agree with you. This write is sobering and I think I consider myself part of a community here on FS--even when I'm not as active as in the past. We've all shared parts of ourselves that we maybe have not shared with other people in our daily lives--thoughts feelings perspectives. THat is a bond between writers--even if virtual. There are some writers I consider colleagues and others I consider friends who I have no qualms having a cup of tea with or sharing an afternoon with. Both are integral parts to my ability to share my writing. We all need to take care of each other and look out for one another--as you say--people care.

Our world, our home, rather, has been rocked by the news of Pam's passing. It's sad to hear that Songbryd has also passed away. You are right, Mike, when you say that these friends on FS are just as real and important- if not more- than our friends in the "real" life. These friends may be faceless in many cases but the love that pours forth from their words is very real.
