Sad to hear that about songbird. My wishes to her family. I have also had a thought about Lovinia also. I have checked for any incoming work, but nothing.

I was thinking along the same lines as your final admonition here, Michael. I think it's very helpful if we know that someone is going to be leaving the site for a while. I can think of several others, myself, that have just dropped from sight. Thanks for the good advice and sharing about the lovely lady I did not know.

What you say is so true Michael. There are several poets that have vanished in the past two years that I came to admire and was very fond of and they just disappeared. Some come and go but I get used to that. That is the reason I told my daughter to inform a few of my FS friends when I knew I would be missed. She had to be told because it was not for most on her mind, LOL But was happy to do it for me. We all need to remember, we do have friends here and they do care. xsx Nancy

So true. In many ways this site is a community of kindred spirits. The first poet who truly welcomed me was Curt Mongold- an excellent poet. I have tried contacting him many times as he was undergoing chemo. If anyone has heard anything about him, please let me know. Though I don't know her, I am sorry for the loss of Songbird.

What a heartfelt write. The news of the passing of these two FanStory family members is indeed heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I too, wonder about those whose work I read when I first began on this site like Sueellen 11 who no longer writes.

I so agree with you. I've made some life-long friends here on Fanstory and cannot imagine them not in my real life. They are part of my heart and soul, which makes them real life friends! I'm sorry for your recent losses, the loss of our peers here on this site as well.
I wrote something awhile back about the need to be able to alert our friends here should something happen to us... I believe many would agree that our families need to know who to contact.
