oh Dean you are a riot! This epic moves along at a hundred miles an hour, the internal rhyming tripping easily off the story-teller's tongue and I can just hear the verses being sun or spouted by a big, deep C & W voice. Rhythm's pretty bumpy in places and could be cleaned up though - THEN you'd really have a whiz of a write. But nevertheless, you always bring a smile to my face with your clever use of words!

Ha ha, thanks so much, Sharyn, I truly appreciate that. Hey, if I can put a smile on someone's face, then my day's complete.

Thanks for the complimentary review, my talented friend.

Nice sequel to the original poem! It was entertaining to read, and the rhyme was good and nice and subtle. You really captured the rollicking tone of the original. The poem reads really well. The artwork is fun too. Good work!

You certainly have plenty of perseverance to craft a story in poetic form. I love the reference to W. W. Jacobs in your piece, he is one of my favorite authors. This is a great sequel to a classic. Great visuals as always.

An outstanding tour de force in remarkable poetic fashion. You blew the doors off with your exquisite rhyming that was as consistant as it was compelling. Executed with your expert ability to create an eyecatching composition the blends picture and verse.

Loved the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" as a kid and you stuck to the rhythm stroke for stroke with you rosined pen. Just can't stand Charlie Daniel's politics. Still, your poem makes me want to dig into the ol' album collection and give it another listen.

Charlie Daniels came to Fort Hood a few years back and played a free concert for the military. The house rocked when he played this song. Awhile back I watched a movie about this song. I can't remember the name of but it was good. Great job.

I think this is worthy of all the effort sweat and tears you must have put into this. I've always thought the best poetry is the one that tells a story. Your phrases and unique wording is incredible. "Agape love," is something most average folk aren't aware of, and I like how what you do doesn't preach, it makes you dig deep and think... Love that "monkey paw," too, that is one example your originality. Stan

It just so happens that there was a blurb on CNN about a rock band preacher giving forth his sermons to large audiences. I don't think he played the fiddle, but he sure had a message.
