Hi Dean,

Love the photo! I always enjoy your work, and this is no exception. The black formatting and white font accentuated your well chosen words.

Easy to see why you won! Great job.

Cheers,
Keep Smilin'... Jax

Psychology is a deeply mysterious area of our lives, we can be affected by a myriad of influences around us, and like with this new one, ( that I never knew existed ! ) this can complicate things even further! There was a Christian psychologist that according to physical ex-rays taken of a human brain, there was actually dark areas of the brain that had tentacles attached, with hooks, she said this was what Apostle Paul describes as strongholds in the mind! We are warned in scripture not to talk negatively! Or these things, can manifest! Well written subject matter you have chosen Dean! well written, blessings, Roy.

Phobophobia- now that would be one hellish affliction. Really like your word jazz ( goth jazz) , particularly equines and all as prying outsiders showing the building paranoia. It appears- your speaker concluding fear of everything, but it appears perhaps also being a visitation by an embodiment of all those fears? Good to see you don't suffer from freeversephobia.

Ha, actually I do suffer from freevesrseaphobia, RB. I rarely ever write them, but this contest stipulated that the entries had to be written in free verse style.

Thanks for the opinions and comments, my friend.

Congratulations on another win, Dean.

Brilliant presentation and tumbling word form to reflect the hopelessness of this depressed subject who doesn't seem to have much positivity left.

But then the clever twist, 'it appears' - to hint all is not so bad, either for the onlooker or the subject.

Excellent.

Best wishes, Ted

A fine piece!
But I don't really see how this is connected to horror and thriller poetry
Rather, it should be included in the spiritual poetry.
Congratulations on your winning!

Thanks, MagKing, I really appreciate your comments. I guess I listed it as such because it doesn't really fit into a category, and because of the subject matter, and the creepy picture. Some people are very sensitive to such things. Call it a precautionary warning...

Your poem is so professional, I like it very much.
It looks like one you would see in a magazine.

Good luck in the contest.

Well this is a different style but I think it's slamming, the content reminded me of something my mom used to say, "some people are scared of their shadow" LOL very informative piece, the pic and the content makes for a beautiful marriage. Thanks for sharing.

When one has a phobia for everything, things are not looking bright. Insane people will feel that way or they live in their own world of phobia where everything is a threat to them when they feel totally insecure, mentally disturbed or in deep extreme depressive states of mind. Poignant.
Greta write and well planned.
Cheerio, Ritchie. :))

Now I've heard everything! What will we humans do next to complicate our lives and make ourselves miserable. Thank goodness I don't have any phobias. I keep myself quite busy with my obsessive/compulsive disorder, lol. Hugs, Lou
