I thought this chapter was great. The plot is moving along nicely, and, as you almost always do, you have shown, rather than told, us what the characters are thinking and feeling. This seems like an intriguing setup for whatever is to come. Congrats on getting Lucy "inside" in such a believable way. It's exciting by itself, and really moves the plot along, as I said.

Hi. I'm hopelessly behind, so I'm just going backwards! Delighted you liked this. I think everyone is where I want them now. Lucy turned out to be a stronger character than I envisioned at first. Glad you like her too. mikey

Good chapter. Tense as usual. Maybe a little levity to lighten things up before the tension gets too much. I think bard would be perfect for that. It would be interesting to see diamond do something goofy to go along with bard, it would be unexpected.
Your scene with tenaya in the compound was fantastic.
