'We do the best we can with what we have.' That's not bad, and I'm happy for you with the attitude you have shown us today. I, too, hope that it comes furtively in the night, for both of us. You will be okay - I'm sure. Well done; this report and a long life.

A beautifully heartfelt analysis of a life lived to the fullest. As I read this, I realized there were no easy moments, yet I think three daughters is a wonderful way to leave your seeds behind. Also, very therapeutic, and a great piece of writing to leave for the family. Superb! Good luck with the contest. Les

Wow..true story? amazing..This line struck me the most:
"No, I haven't any regrets because we make decisions based on our life experiences and maturity level available at the time of each decision. We do the best we can with what we have."
Great work..Good Luck with the contest and God Bless~!

unmarried woman in 1967. And, thus ended that road to my future. - unmarried women and the and is not needed before thus

And, we were a statistic: husband/wife working, three children, new house in burbs - again the and is not needed, also, in the burbs

speak since she posted on Facebook, a tirade of lies about how her life was a mess because of me. - structure reads strange; speak since she posted a tirade of lies about how her life was a mess because of me on Facebook(eliminates the uneccessary comma and makes the flow easier)

Despite some of the above mentioned anomales and an inordinate amount of "buts" which could be replaced with alsos or howevers, I thought this was a great write. I especially love the end, particularly this passage; "we make decisions based on our life experiences and maturity level available at the time of each decision. We do the best we can with what we have."

Excellent work on this write and best of luck in the contest, thank you for sharing.

This is a sad time for you to be writing about life, but I think it can be therapeutic in a way, maybe even uplifting. I connected with your story personally when I saw that you graduated from high school in 1967 - a fine year for fine people, what say! Your decision to have no regrets is both mature, and basically sensible. Simply, because you have no choice, and feelings about past directions can only make you unhappy and not change a thing. My wife likes to quote John Lennon where he wrote: Life is what happens when you're making other plans. The changing fortunes of your life brought that back to me. I hope that your health gives you a shot at some future quality life. I wish you Godspeed on your journey.

Hello, dear Linda,

I've been behind in my reviewing, but never stopped praying for you.

How wonderful to be able to look back and not have any regrets.

Thinking of you, dear lady. You never know what's in store. Thank God the future is not in our own hands, right?

xxx

Sonali :)

If there is one wish I have for myself, it is to live a life without regrets. No one is perfect, that's a given. But, in the end, we are all perfectly ourselves. I am sorry to read you're not speaking with one daughter. I hope this changes soon.

This is well written and paced, and I don't see any SPAG. Nice job, and I hope that your time here is rich and regret free.

Excellent.
The up hill push is the difficult, raising children the toughest, married to an alcoholic the roughest.
Although weary, it is not time to sleep, the years ahead are yours to keep.
Reset your gyroscope, deleting the bad, sad, ugly, and regretted. With a new slate you must make a date. Nature is your friend, your date will never end, the sunsets will set you free, fresh air and flowers for a queen bee.
Travel and you will find that problems diminish when left behind, physically and mentally you move on, appreciating your journey that you have won.
Happiness will find you as you cut the cords--of former burdens and fair weather friends, that is where the regrets end.
The black dress is simple, but elegant, the pearls set it off, you will be seen and admired. Go forward, rejoice in your new found freedom, and never give up.
When you stand in a quiet forest, or on a lonely beach, listen, you will hear Nature's chorus, "How great thou art."
I love your purse, it goes with your shoes.

Hi Linda: I see my cardio doc on a regular basis, next Monday actually. I have nothing left to fix so I say, we are born, live our life and die. . .it sounds so simple until your own life is winding down. It's o.k., I have a handle on it all. My daughters are taking me out for dinner on Mother's Day and they know that it could very well be my last one. I don't focus on the last day; I review where I've been and where I might go if I had more time. I appreciate your prayers and thoughts and I am back on site on a regular basis, writing a little. Talk to you soon. Linda
