Treischel, This is a nice thoughtful poem. It really flows well. I appreciate your author notes. I would like to try the style myself.
The photograph enhances the poem, although that is not saying the poem could not stand alone. Photo a bit fuzzy, but perhaps that was your intent.
I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks for sharing. -E.

And a multi-talented, multi-tasking author he is, too.
I agree reading is an unlimited joy. Those who haven't been bitten by the reading bug have closed themselves off from a world of fabulous adventures. That's the message most in need of conveyance.
Peace, Lee

Thank you for sharing a fine example of your new form. I enjoyed the rhythm and rhymes and the poem's upbeat message. Your photograph reinforces the mood well. I only regret being out of sixes. Happy weekend- Joan

Thankfully, never had to exhort my kids to read. I think they just learned by example. We have more books in than a fleet of bookmobiles.

Brilliant 12 line Exhortation, Tom! Not only did you say something pertinent and germane, but the way in which you stated it in perfect poetic proclamation was superb.
Well done, my friend!

This piece meets the criteria of the 12 line exhortation as this piece has the correct number of lines totaling 12. Good end rhyming. Good alliteration with any/age...to/teach/things...of/open. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

You are so right, reading is wonderful. It releases knowledge, and imparts wisdom that can only become real through the experiences of life. Well done.
