Hi Karyn,

Alvin certainly did have a big heart, if only everyone could have seen it. I'm glad that you and I got acquainted through "Pieces of Her Mind" and in one of Alvin's classes.

Hugs,
Lois

Very nice tribute to our Alvin. I'll bet he smiled when reading this from some other plane. Very true, too. Well voiced with simplicity and conviction. Fine presentation.

Love,
rd

Hi, Irish. Yes, Alvin was around writing long before becoming an instructor. We will all miss him, I'm sure. Since I am not generally a poet, I must be honest , I wasn't aware that he was an instructor. Nice Haiku, Irish....fine trbute. Bob

Another fine tribute to Alvin. I like how you put much thought into not only the words, but royal symbol of color as a crusader and the picture all create just the perfect mood and or emotion. Wonderful.

Great tribute! Although unknown to me, this man had a tremendous impact on many people, and the world is a better place for him having been here. I would like to think that some your expertise with this short form can be credited to his instruction.

Hi Karyn,

I never did know Alvin that well. I'm learning a lot about him now from everyone's poem's or memorials about him. He was born the same year as my oldest son. That's young to die.

I have never been able to go to the classes that they offer on FS. I knew Alvin was a teacher and I've read some of his poetry, but that's all I knew about him. It's sad he died so young. My oldest son's was born the same year as Alvin.
