No truer words have been spoken. I can remember getting all excited when he would review one of my poems. Though the poem were amateurish at best, he always gave me gentle hints and praised the minor things I did get right. nice tribute to a fine man and teacher.

Not a bad lot to leave behind I would think. What a beautiful poem and tribute to a fine man who was indeed very generous with his tireless efforts to write, promote, share and teach this form. I would thing he may be singing a few praises right about now. What a fitting tribute and to be honest I've had a good howl today thinking fondly of this man and what he has given to so many here. I was lucky enough to be part of the Piece of her Mind publication with a bunch of ladies and Alvin was our editor. He was extremely helpful and not backward in coming forward to make us the best haiku, senryu and other short form writers that he could. I should think his students would be singing his praises for a long time to come. May he rest in peace forever. Wonderfully written and I can just see the inspiration and admiration in your eyes with this most special post. Well done.

As one of Alvin's students, I tried to show my respect for a wonderful and kind teacher. He was passionate about poetry, and truly loved the essence of the short forms.

I'm always bouncing between FAR and FS so I'm SO glad I saw the announcement that Alvin passed away. Before I saw the Guestbook I wrote, "The Alvin I Knew". When I did see the guestbook I wanted to add to it too. Alvin was that special! I'm SO glad you liked what I wrote. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Those who knew Alvin just had to part of the guessbook. I'm not there every day so I'm SO glad I did not miss the chance to be part of it. Thank you SO much for the wonderful review!
By the way,I saw the note on Alvin's profile page on how proud he was of you and your accomplishemnets. I know how much that must have meant to you. This may be a little late in coming but Congrats! :o) Helvi
