Alvin would be so proud to learn you chose a haibun for his tribute. Your phrase "hear the bliss of a rose" is perfect as is the idea of "schooling those angels". Your satori is a lovely way to conclude your heartfelt work. Warm regards- Joan

Alvin E Ellington should be Alvin T Ethington
A nice haibun for Alvin - I'm sure that he would be pleased that you wrote such a nice piece in his honour.

I can feel it is written from your heart. The story was good and your Haiku reasonable. This is a nice thought to write something you never finished back then.

The photo compliments the piece well as the words bring the photo to life. Good descriptive word use that paints a saddening message in my heart and mind. The line like dipping a toe in freezing water really touched me. Thanks for sharing.

You can imagine my dear friend how I feel. We were such good friends, we shared so many things and trust one another.
I'm sorry I never took any of his lessons, I just didn't have the time.
Un abrazo para ti mi querida amiga.

It is easy to see that you have written this from your heart. Your beautiful tribute gives comfort to those of us who are grieving and assists us to dwell only on his wonderful legacy of loved poetry. Giddy
