This would be a scary dream. However, it dream interpretations are taken seriously, snakes in dreams are not suppose to mean harm but represents healing. so thinking that way, maybe the dream won't be so scary. "head, like a penis", well, that may be another issue. LOL This is a nice free verse and its organization into verses makes it a smooth read. The picture adds a bit of the feeling of terror.

This was a very good poem. There's vivid details about your fear of snakes. I do have a question about the second line. You wrote;

Clever! You've managed to write a poem about a very real phobia and make the reader laugh. I also love that this poem avoids the usual symbolism of snake as temptation (despite the penis reference). This dream snake is pure fear and that comes through perfectly. The "Mongoose for Hire" sign is so much fun, poet/dreamer displaying a sense of humor. Love it! Thanks for sharing. --Judy
