You really deserved to win this contest, not only was is amazing, your thoughts on the soul make so much sense. The night nefore my first husband died, (he was very young) I believe someone/thing came for him, but he wasn't ready to go. He was visibly upset and pointing and waving his finger in the air. By then, we couldn't understand what he was saying. He slept peacefully that night, and the following day. That evening, he slipped peacefully away with me and our young sons at his side. I will never forget those two nights. I believe he wanted one more day to prepare himself.
Sorry, I've gone off in one of my novella reviews again! Your short story brought it back to me, in a nice way. This happened nearly 40 years ago. I'm so pleased you won the contest. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I'll have to look for those. Are they with these short stories? I'm up to 68 now, and really enjoying them. I'd already reviewed a few, but read them again.

Nicely done for this and we all look for our soul in one way or another. The soul is a curious one it can drift on the wind till it slowly makes its way back to us when the time comes to say goodbye.

If I had a six star rating this story would have earned it. It's very moving and for 150 words it does the job of telling the story and invoking reader emotion. Very nice job.

Loved the mention of the "sea of sheets." It's so visual and telling at the same time. This has a sad tone, but you do end it with a twinge of hope. Nice job. :)
