Great love poem! I especially like: "all these years that have passed gather in the moonlight, together my soul knows your soul's answer." I love it! This is kind of love, rare today, is deeper that shallow young love and more wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

This brought tears to my eyes (I'm such a softy. I've been there when you have loved so intensely . I fell in love with the line "my soul knows your soul answers". There is an energy between lovers no matters where they are if you are within a distance you can sense it, feel it. very good.

A true definition of what love is. To know that you can have your hearts greatest desire and for the sake of your loves better interests walk away and deny yourself your own happiness for her sake, is love. Well done poet. NG

This is beautiful - truly. What you've expressed - about "not" is such a difficult aspect of love. You've led up to the moment very poetically and I like the visuals of the night, the moon, the lamp post, and the years that have past ... as well as the souls knowing. Yes, that depth where the souls know, yet one goes on with this human existence ... the body is weak, and thus this is a very strong love, indeed.

Well write free verse poem,flowing well and tell your sad story very well.Great use of words to portray your meanings. I liked the way you spread out the last lines,giving one the feeling of your sadness as you slowly leave. Well done
