This is a very powerful piece with a message for all. Many human beings have lost the ability to feel compassion, all they want to do is blame others and deride them. Good experiment which revealed a lot about human nature. You have written a good poem to complement the illustration and the imagery. Good use of language and very thought-provoking poem. Faye

Thanks, Faye. You're right, compassion is being shown less and less these days. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me.

This is a poem that everyone on this site and the world at hand should read and heed. These are the kinds of messages we all need and to act upon in the mercy of and for the human race. Judge not that ye be judged, seems to be a lost thought in this modern day. This is an outstanding piece of poetic art that deserves all six stars awarded here. We need to read and heed this message you have given to us all... John

Thank you, very much, John. It's true, if even the least of us would do the most we could, this world would be a whole lot nicer place in which to live.

Thanks again for such a thoughtful review, my friend.

Uhm, I'm speechless at this point. Wow... what a wonderful thing that artist did. What a wonderful thing you have done bringing light to a dark, untouched subject. People are cruel. My bf/fiance was homeless for awhile when his now ex-wife kicked him out. He's from texas and didn't know anyone here. Once we started dating, I offered him my home. And he lives with me but is working and looking for his own place.
I remember on one occssion one of my ex's and I saw a homeless man just asking for food and we went straight home and got everything we could and gave it to him. He was so grateful and cried.
This poem touched my heart and soul. You are such a gifted writer. I only wish I had your talents.
I love ya! :) GR

This is interesting. I had to read to the end to find out it was a poem about a statue. I may be dense, lol.
I never heard this is a world of roses? Even they have thorns.
This is a world of survival it is true but Jesus would have people helping each other. Do unto others.
I'll stop now and tell you I liked this write.
Oh, so you know, I left the statue a buck so he could buy a cup of coffee when he gets up.

Good use of the aabb rhyme scheme. Good end rhyming. Good perfect rhyming with cold/told...since/wince. Good internal rhyming. Good alliteration with He/him...man/mutters...anything/at/all...callous/cold...ardent/artist/attempt/at...after/all...grace/God/go...helping/hand. Good rhythm and flow. Good complimentary photo followed by an excellent message.
