This is brilliant, my friend! I absolutely love the tone and imagery of this, exactly what a free verse poem should take advantage of. You use it to full effect, my friend, and I'm always so impressed with your ability to write poetry AND prose. Love that last bit, and thanks for rhyming. :)

Now, your poem IS invincible.
Love the hyperbole in the end. We know, In reality, that humans aren't invincible, but our goal is to not to live forever, right? It's to create something that can.
Love these lines:
" I catch you as though
you were going to fall although
I know you were not"
Unconditional love is definitely invincible.
Hugs
Amanda

I think having such self confidence is essential in this competitive world. I never had any till a few years ago and it definitely helps to encourage an indomitable spirit. Good choice of words to convey your message. It had a smooth flow and is definitely uplifting to those whose spirits are down. Enjoyable read. Faye

Mikey, Darling! What rhymes with "damsel snug?" Is it "like a bug in a rug?" If so, what a save from teetering on the edge of your Rico Suave persona and letting Peewee Herman leak through the cracks! You ARE invincible! I imagine you ARE entirely capable of creating that much spectacle in real life, with all that posturing and posing. There's something to be said for wannabes, you know... They certainly do try, and so raise the bar for the rest of us! Nice write, dude. I'll bet it just came to you, just like that, huh? Yours, Stephie/Word Girl

Wow! A dramatically written with photogenic, captivating and eye-catching imagery along with the context in concept. You once rhythmically flowing and melodically dancing poem turned morose and a bit delinquent or brutal. Your hint of invincibility at the end showed that the madcap adventurer had sustained his invulnerability to injustice. Thank you for the sharing and posting this for everyone. May you and yours always be blessed.

Mikey, I read this several times, and I have to say I don't get it. At first I thought it was one thing, then another, and then at the end, yet something else. I did like how it was written, but I wish I could have fathomed your intent. But then, I've never been very good at analyzing poetry. My thinking is too literal, practical, direct... or something. :)

I don't know if anyone is truly invincible but feeling you are can be an aphrodisiac and quite addicting. Maybe belief is really all you need. Nice work with this one and a fun entry for the contest. I wish you all the best.

I think you got the title wrong :) Oops! Quite an interesting poem. Some people really think they are invincible, but in the end, no one is :) Thanks for sharing.
