My heavens! I roared. I can't believe this wonderful translation that gets everything wrong. It reads like a prank, but I don't really care. The laugh is legitimate no matter what. Thank you for passing it on!

This gets a 6 from me because I guffawed my way through it. I hope it's real, it's such a hoot! Thank you for making me laugh so hard today. It's tough getting through this winter, but you brought a little fun to my day. Again, thanks for posting this.

It sure looked like a hotel brochure as it came with this embossed logo/letterhead, but someone in OZ said they'd seen it before. Course that doesn't mean its not true. But I had to share. I guffawed. Thanks for all the star power.

This is hilarious. Most of it sounds legitimate; some sounds a little too much to be real. Regardless, it's good for a laugh. Thanks for sharing.

I just had to share it.

That is the best non-stop laugh I have had in a long time. It has to be legitimate because it is too quirky to be made up. It would be more slick and clever if it were scripted, I think. The squashing of shirts is just to odd to be made up to be funny. It's funny because it doesn't even make sense. In any case, thank you for making my day!! mikey

Sure was a good laugh.

Prank or not this is hysterical. You got me to laugh out loud. I can relate to the literal translation...not good with English to Spanish either. Thanks for the laugh.

Made my morning...what a hoot.

Hi Ingrid,
don't want to be the one to burst your translational dream, but this one has already run its course down here... last year, or even the year before, can't recall... but in saying that, I still chuckled again... I especially like that the guests are encouraged to expose themselves in the bar, and no guest will be left alone to play with themselves... now that's a true bonus... can you imagine how novel that would be? A bar full of wankers exposing themselves in public... aw yeah, this could be any number of hotels in Australia owned by the Chinese... they seem to have their finger in every body's pie.
Thanks for the laugh!

I wasn't convinced that it was a true story, but having worked with the Chinese for so long, I had so many personal situations that made this plausible. It was posted for fun...mystery solved.
-
Who knows, it may have started off with real translation? no matter, I still laughed and enjoyed re-reading it again, if only because it was written by you... hey, don't gag, I mean it... no I'm deadly serious... don't want it to get lost in translation. xx

Well, it put me over the edge, but I've just had someone from Australia tell me its made the circuit down there, so I guess it's just one very clever writer out there in cyberland.

Thanks for sharing, Ingrid. This is hysterical! I know what you mean about translations. This spoof isn't all that far from the truth in some ways! :)

For all know it is the truth. It came with a hotel letterhead that looked authentic, but who knows...still very funny.

If this is not embellished, this is priceless, and if it is embellished, good for you...I belly-laughed. Does go to show you how communication among cultures and different languages can be misconstrued. Long live different languages...thanks for the laughs.

It is an e-mail exactly as I received it. now there's no way of knowing whether it's an internet joke, but it came with an embossed logo/letterhead of the hotel which I couldn't get to copy/paste. even then, it may not be true, just the clever work of a prankster. Trust me, if I had done the embellishment I would have written a story around it. Just good for laughs.

The more I think about it, it has to be a prankster, for almost every line is hilarious. Thanks, again, for the joy of words and the laughter they bring.
