Hey, TK. I haven't been getting messages of your writings although I have chosen to be a fan. Don't know why that is. I really like this poem and hope you find what you are looking for. Hugs my friend, Miss Sally

Very well done in you usual good rhyme and rhythm. You got to that mountain top and found it empty. I know, maybe it was the wrong mountain. Keep searching and asking my friend.

Trying to think how to comment on this as finding one's faith in Jesus is so personal and the search unique to each of us; and yet you have also shared that search and maybe that is the connection between author and reader. We've all been there, searching for that something and it tends to be so allusive because without faith it is merely illusive. A sandcastle on the edge of the sea, a cloud skirting a distant horizon. First we must believe and then we come to understand we love Him because He first loved us. Not the other way around.

This one tugged my heart. We are all looking for the comfort that comes from knowing that someone greater than ourselves loves us. And sometimes our attitude and ego does get in the way. Will He speak to you directly, some will say so, but He has only spoken to me through His word. And yet, I don't feel He has left me out. Take care my friend, as usual you have done a superb job. :-) Carolyn

TK,
Spiritual with a touch of self introspection ("maybe its my ego that gets in the way") thrown into the mix as well.
I'm not religious by any means but I could relate to the fact that we all go in search of answers in our own particular way, and often stop and ponder the whys, whats, whens of life and the universe.
Thanks for sharing!
Connie :)

Whether or not this poem applies to your life or someone else's is immaterial, it's the search for love and Jesus that matters. I believe when searching for Him, you must first appreciate the small things: a gentle breeze, the rain, beautiful rainbows, your ability to think rationally and thousand of other small things we all take for granted. He can come to you and manifest His wonders in any of them. Sometimes it's loving others unconditionally that He'll manifest His glory. You wrote a most compelling piece that has excellent meter, fantastic lexicon and a message worthy of pondering. Great job!

Seems my life is a labyrinth
I'm going nowhere fast
When I find what I'm looking for
It just never seems to last .. my favourite stanza
It IS different for you, TK - and I just loved the gentle, befuddled, slightly perplexed voice.
Speak to me Sweet Jesus
I'm ready to listen now .. these lines will do it, you know - when one really means it!
Have a wonderful week, sir - bless you!

I've heard it said that "wanting" to love God and "loving" God are one and the same thing. If that is so, you're sitting pretty nice my friend.

Assuming you are serious, here's a great thing that Jesus said to clarify this salvation thing. Please note that He clearly says that anyone who has trusted Him HAS (present tense) eternal life. This statement can be the spiritual anchor for your soul as you continue to grow in faith by reading Jesus' word. God bless you. John 5:24 "Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Been there done that. Found out it wasn't Him who was lost it was me. I surrender all inside me to Him and I heard His voice say follow me. You did good with this poem and built it where it reaches into the mind and pulls out yesterday. Shalom my friend.
