Perfect rhythm in this limerick. That ain't as easy as it looks. Talking three hours! It's a wonder he didn't damage his brain cells. LOL

Hello Bill Schott, A fun Limerick which made me smile and laugh, so you've accomplished your goal. Of note:

Until he came down with pneumonia.

(The laugh line - that will teach 'em ...
and now his wife is in hysteria--just had
to share that - lol.)

As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

This was a good attempt. The rhyming seemed a bit forced, and I think it's the first time I've encountered a made up word (phonia) in a limerick. But the message was funny and exactly what a limerick is all about!

A fine poem with great conceptual idea. I suspect could even win the contest if only it stuck by the rules.
The rules says 9-9-6-6-9 syllables. But that's not what you have written here. I apologize, but I must review using the rule method before anything else.

LOoved the photo and loved the poem. They matched wonderfully and this felt like a good limerick ... Livonia is in Ireland, right? Smiling ... great job

This was a well written Limerick poem. Your 9-9-6-6-9 syllable count is in good order. Your rhyming scheme is correct. I had to look up the word phonia, and found that it is one syllable. Nicely written poem that meets all requirements for this contest.

Well I think you made up some words here, but still a well written limerick. I don't think there is much that will stop some people from talking on there cell phones.

Blessings, LaVonne

Extremely clever rhyming words
Excellent inflection for the limerick form so that this reads well
and you definitely left me with a laugh!

Great limerick and social commentary. Makes a person wonder what has to be said that requires constant phone conversations. You've touched upon a trend that's so common these days--it's called "phone-stuck-to-earitis."

I really rate the last 3 lines, though I found then first 2 rather forced.

I'm all for fun rhymes, but where the heck is 'Livonia'? Unless I'm missing something subtle (and also my geography isn't that hot), isn't there a REAL place you could substitute?

Anyway, the limerick meter is excellent, and it is a fun read.

Good luck, Ted

Livonia is a town in Michigan near Detroit. Thank you for the positive review.

I apologise for that. My excuse is I'm a Brit and have never visited the States. Your limerick is now much better in my eyes.

Thanks for your gracious reply. Ted.
