I just love everything about this, and it is a subject that needs such light and hope of those who have and are patheing tracks up this steep mountain of despair and crucifixion of life and creativity. Oh! What lovely metaphors, and set in rondeau form, very novel to my uneducated eyes, they speak to the soul, and whole so rarely touched without poetry. And, everything about your presentation add to a moving whole. Such a gift, six from me! And thanks for being a light on my FanStory Tree. Blessings, Maureen*&*

I am so touched by this gesture. That is one of my all time favorite pieces. You have no idea how you just lifted my spirit today.

What better to uplift a spirit when its so well earned; and moreover, I've gained so much from the gift for my own wintering, tilling new ground. Enjoy a spirited year, blessings, Maureen*&*

This is a beautifully written poem - a Rondeau. It is listed as biographical which adds to its appeal. Your words are lovely - farewell to despair, he destructive enemy - good words. An inspirational poem for any one feeling sad. I really enjoyed this and it flowed really well. Regards Dorothy

I enjoyed this so much that I copied down your AN so I can try my hand at a rondeau this evening.

Love the fact that you metered this when, according to your AN, the requirements were syllabic. You could've gone all wonky free-verser there, but instead you knocked it out of the park with solid iambic rhythm that really carries the reader from line to line.

Good stuff. :)

Actually I could have been much more descriptive in those notes. Let me give you a few more.

A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short - a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).

The form is somewhat lyrical so much preferred in meter. Hope you give one a go, they are great fun and they sound so musical when completed.

    Thanks for the great review.

This piece meets criteria of the Rondeau poem as this piece has the correct number of lines totaling 15. Good description and alliteration. Good end rhyming. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

Dear Dawn,

A very positive write one that shouts to me that despair will never get you down. You seek peace and serenity and if achieved will shoo despair away. I applaud your positive attitude.

Warm regards,

Winslow
