How touching! Funny how a dream can be a catalyst for creativity. Very sweet poem that draws on your emotions. Words have such a great power in that way.

Val: I know you well enough that your not comfortable in this zone so I just want you to know it was a dream (I've been battling a lot of physical (and related emotional) issues for some time now so not surprising. I'm ok and intending to be a lot better. Thanks for your feedback as always: Vancee

This is a very interesting poem. It has been said that we should live each moment as if it were our last. .. Where eternity is concerned, while time shall be no more, your last verse is still so very lovely... more than a few minutes left in our forever. Wonderfully written, Carolyn

Dear Carolyn...so nice to hear from you again and thanks so much for your kind review! This poem came from a rather scary dream so I was not sure how it would all work out but I'm even more convinced now that such things are NOT ACCIDENTAL! Blessings! Vance

The author notes give the poem context, and adds to the interesting theme of the poem, a unique experience that was well imaged, a 'feel-good' aspect to it, nice work.

But as I lay here now being told my life's done
I remember my promise to you my dearest one
Know my soul leaves one life while another's' begun
And in that life my promise shall always extend
So know my love for you shall never, ever end

Hi Vance, what is happening my friend, please write to me , I was away and just read your poem. Are you OK? I pray to God to spare your life for much much more time. Awaiting your reply. Beautiful sad poem Vance. Love Terry xoxoxo

Dearest Terry: this poem came from a dream that I was told I was going to die (was in author notes) so I'm still ok (I think). But it was a revelation that motivated a poem. Thank you dear one for your concern but no need to worry and thank so much for your kind thoughts and lovely review. Bleasings & love Vance

This is a tough topic to negotiate, but I can see why you wrote it. I think your title and final line are wonderful, one expressing life's reality, the other posing future hope . I like the idea of the reflective voice as it muses ever relationship with God and offers solace to a partner about to be left behind. This is an enjoyable and evocative read.

I felt sorrow looking at the photo you choose fir your poem
Than every thing changed when I read your write.
you touched my heart and my soul I believe there is a life after we leave this earth.
so what ever you promise here on earth that promise is waiting for your mate when you meet in heaven.

A few minutes left in forever, indeed I dream a lot, and often wander where some of the strange dreams come from.
I enjoyed reading your story poem, nice rhyming, God bless you, Lakeport,

Death is reality that many cannot face, including myself. I have lost many loved ones in my life and at critical points. My mom died 2 months before my first child was born. But the worst thing that could ever happen is if something were to happen to me, my kids, or husband. I worry about it constantly. Hugs, this was good.

Thanks Bobby Jo and hope you live a long and healthy life with all the members of your family. This poem came from a dream and I think it was supposed to deliver solace in knowing that our souls will go on forever and I do believe they never die and still stay in touch with each other.
