urges, rises, emerges, marches...strong action verbs add drama to this poem
strong visual of the Dark Lord standing tall among the weak
strong sensory appeal as the darkness shrouds the light and the shrill sound is heard
a powerful closing

Hi Dark Lord, a sad tale of the demise of the dark lord. I'm happy to see Patrick comes away unscathed in this poem. Even your colours are brighter in this poem. :) Is the dark lord letting the light in?
Well written. luv jada

The caption image is beautiful.
I'm uncertain about the poem. It seems to me like a parody of adolescent thought and a bit cheap in the vein that adolescent thought is.
This might have a place in a book of poetry if it was placed well. Otherwise, I would ignore this.

This is a different type poem for
me, but I liked its message. I could
feel Patrick's pain and his determination to fight
the Dark Lord and in the end, with the
Savior's help, he does. Well done. 8-)

I have never really embraced this type of poem, very dark as you describe in your profile. But, I have to say you have used some excellent words in your poem to create this Gothic atmosphere and it is effective. Well-written. Faye

Good use of phrasing. Beautiful language and gripping imagery! It certainly is dark. It projects a" Stephen Kingness" about it. I like the fact that love is the only thing that triumphs over evil. I believe, in realty it does. I liked the fact that he looked to his Mentor/hero/God for help and strength.
Good luck with this one. Roy.

The battle between good and evil must be fought within each of us. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words. Good job.
