You express your feelings with passion; there is nothing mediocre in your poetry. You arrange your written thoughts with intelligent precision and I determine your thoughts spring from a beautiful mind.

Dearest Eleanor: Your review filled me with encouragement, hope and inspiration, that I might master this art of poetry with enough skill and passion to change this world for the better by also gifting others with what you just gifted me! I hope I can inspire, enlighten, enrich, empower, and stimulate positive passions in others that they might seek to do the same and pay it all forward. Bless you for being out there doing this and may we keep the love and the passion alive as long as we are! Vance

hi gray,
i found this poem both engaging and fascinating - the language and the tone is very scripture-like, brilliantly done, which gives the piece added authority and pathos.
but what really blew me away was the anger expressed toward the end, climaxing with
'For thee cometh neither from God nor it's light
But from the rotten bowels of dead spirits
Creating excrement to fertilize the devil's own garden
Be gone, you scum upon the windows of salvation

if these are not terms of hatred i don't know what is - which leaves the poem kind of self-referential.
but i wouldn't change a thing, it's brilliant as it is -

thanks for sharing.......P

Very interesting take on mirrors which I think makes this poem unique and brings the meaning forward by reflecting it. I think this part really ties things together:

"But you live in a house of mirrors
And your energy comes back upon you
To fuel the death of your very origin
To exhaust the fire of your own being
To shame you for the heart of your purpose
To mark you as a sinner without salvation"

Very upbeat energy, especially the way you end it:

"Be gone, you scum upon the windows of salvation
And leave us to know only joy and mirrors of love
And never ending lives of GRATITUDE for missing you!"

Happy Holidays! Les

gulp......classic old school in it's format......AND also in it's HELL and Damn Nation vocabulary......leaves the scholars AND casual observers both talking AND speechless(accomplishing the impossible! Again I say: HOW DO YOU DO THIS?!?!)

Dear Val: Thanks for your really encouraging review and I'm always excited to hear from you. This one is pretty much off the wall but as I saw all the poems of greetings and blah blah for the holidays, I wanted to throw some strong herbs into the sugar stew of reality and get the haters in the audience to stand up and take their bloody emmeys in front of the other life actors. It's a tough gig to watch haters do their thing so I wanted to hold up mirrors during this season of Love, and shame them out of the theatre! Thanks a million for your great review and know my gratitude for your guidance and inspiration is GENUINE!VANCE

Hey Dad...hatred comes through the hearts of men... plotted in mind and enforced through action...which then becomes sin. Then those who are sinned against hate them....it will never stop ...this cycle of sin...until we see ourselves responsible for hidden evil motivation given life....you see most...I've found....do not really believe He is...or that they will be held accountable....if they did....they would believe when He says..."if your brother has aught against you...go to him and make it right...before you place your gift on the alter"...paraphrasing....no most see their life as all important and that which surrounds them less significant...unworthy of their concern and certainly not considered by God as redeemed....but yes perhaps for a couple hours at least we could stop plotting to hurt each other.....amen. love you michael

MICHAEL dear son...your words and thoughts are profound on this subject and much appreciated for their very truth. Should the day arrive when the emotion of hatred would have exhausted it's energy in the universe.....the sun would probably never set! Dad

Well spoken my friend. Why now at this time does hatred show its face? For it surely does. I am with you. The joy is too beautiful to allow anything to distract our eyes from it. Well done. Bravo. mikey

A long spiritual poem, just in a Nick of time for X-mas, what better day. There will always be hatred, as long as there is a devil. But God needs the devil, because if there is no bad, there would be no good. Nether less, he will be bound in hell for a thousand tears then releashed again. Maybe, when heaven comes in glory on Earth for a thousand years. Merry X-mas, great poem, spread your messages and save someone? wackydo

Dear Wackydo: Thanks for your great review and generous comments! Yeah, I thought the balance of reality was off a bit when everybody's sending out CHRISTMAS LOVE and cards, etc. but so much hatred is pouring out in every dimension of communication so I just wanted to put up the contrast. Best wishes for the New Year and hoping to hear from you again soon! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

Except for the fact that you are not celebrating a subject, this could pass for an Ode.

How doest thou amass such energy
To gather clouds of angry will
That spit the sour rains of vengeance
Upon our blossoms of hope and love

A powerful image above. I like the use of old English.

Excellent use of parallel structure: to fuel, to exhaust, to shame, to mark.

scum upon the windows of salvation --a perfect description.

Your author's notes are so right.
It takes more energy to hate than to love.

Kisses to you,
Shari
