Your poem is well written and thoughtful. It takes mr back 50 years or so to pkcles in a large wooden barrel. It had a n open top so one could simply reach in and grab a really good one. Usually these were in Jewish style Deli don

Very well done. It is true in life that the memories are often of the unimportant things that occur. looking back we often wonder at the capacity of our brain to ha=old on to these and yet the real important ones get pushed to the rear. love your reference to the marbles and pickles. Good poem

Very well written and I'm sure many others long for a tate of the simpler life.
Very well written in a reflective and thoughtful style.
It's also quite thought provoking and I enjoyed a few moments of reflection on my own life's journey.
Thank you for sharing.

Nostalgic trip down memory lane. We often wistfully look back on times gone by and remember them with fondness. It is usually the most unsophisticated events that stick in our minds the most. Nicely written poem, with good choice of language. It flowed well. Faye

If I knew then, what I know now. How many of us would do things differently? This is a cute way to talk about the simplicity of the past. Those days when a pickle, or a jar of marmalade mattered. I would venture to say not many would think back to a simpler time. We are so caught up in the newest gadget that's available, many of us don't even take the time to enjoy what matters most; family. Thanks so much for sharing. It took me back to my childhood.

I can hardly keep track of all those gadgets anyway! Yes a nice marmalade sandwich sounds inviting. Think I will make one!

Thank you for your comments and review. I am glad that you like my poem and took you back to childhood. That is a great compliment.

Such a wonderful poem of sentiment, laced with memories of happiness.
A pickle that sours for the Souls to devour.
Timeless wanderings for the things of the past.
Some times brings new visions of the things that will last.
Spread on the marmalade heavy and thick.
So, that the pickle will remember to stick.
Merry Christmas in a package sent from Santa himself.
Addressed to the sender who lives in this house.
Rejoice, rejoice and sing songs of praise.
Rejoice I say!

This is a lovely journey into the simpler side of life. While I feel a little bad for that last pickle, I can understand the frustration that takes hold when one is grasping at something that simply will not be captured. This was a delightful read and I thank you for sharing it with me.
