You sure know how to set words and tell your story convincingly in metaphors. More, you bring in your message for everyone to understand. I am not enough of a writer to provide technical advice, but clearly see your talent. Thank you for illustrating your poem with my painting.

I'm glad I read this before I retired for the evening. I enjoyed how you incorporated nature, since I love to take solitary walks in the woods and also often hunt alone and have done so in the snow. It is often a time when I commune with God and feel his presence in the delicate balance of nature. You brought that out in no uncertain measure with the sounds of the bird, as often that will be one thing I will hear when the whole woods are still. Wonderful reminder of how through the birth of the savior, he reminds there is hope in a lost world too. Stan

MissMerri, this Christmas Poetry contest entry is well written with solid and smooth in the a-a-b-b and so forth rhyming scheme. The message is strong about the Savior's call and our response. Dream or no, "God works in mysterious ways". Inspirational! All the best in the contest! :0 GracieAnn

A beautiful Christmas poem. Your quatrains flow smoothly with rhyming that just glides across the screen. The message in: "the night the Savior came" comforts me with awe as I read it. Well done! Les

This is a lovely story told in rhyme. I especially like how you set the scene of the dream and take us with the Speaker on his stroll through this wintry wonderland. It is a moving story because of his epiphany once he awakes. Not a forced rhyme in the whole poem and the cadence enhances the mood/ atmosphere of the poem.

Good Evening, Adonna

I am so glad I found your poem before turning in this evening. It is a beautiful Christmas poem that reminds the reader of the true meaning of the season--the birth of Christ. I admire the dual meaning of the last line, "the night the Savior came". I read this as both the birth of Christ as well as his awakening in you.

Your quatrains are perfect in form, meter and end rhyme. It was a delight to read and has put me in a good mood for rest.

Well done, my friend, and best luck to you in the contest.
Ray
