Some sickening statistac, And I read in the news it happens almost daily. I don't suggest that a girl going through this take this type action,there are better ways. First after the first time, tell your mother. If she don't take action go to the police. This is shameful.

This is quite a poignant poem, Dean! It talks about the most heinous crime an adult can perpetrate on a child. While I abhor homicide, I don't think I'd be opposed to it or electrocution if someone abuses a child. The powerful verbs you used at the end of each stanza make this a hard-hitting, dynamic and soul-stirring piece. I can only hope that anyone who is guilty of such a vile act against a child will see himself in this poem and get help immediately. Thanks for keeping this criminal act out there. The days of pretending it doesn't happen are over!

This is quite a poignant poem, Dean! It talks about the most heinous crime an adult can perpetrate on a child. Awesome! I just wish I had a six to give you. It's hard for normal people to imagine that things like this really happen, and even harder to those so young. It's strange how just written descriptions of acts so sick can stir such anger inside us. I felt relief when she stabbed him and didn't want her to stop. Thanks for the read.

Excellent work, my friend. The rhyming scheme and tempo worked perfectly together, like morbid music.
I love the dread this poem illicits, I read with a pounding heart. The pic at the end...well, abuse of any kind sends me into a tornados of emotion, but child abuse simply makes me see red. As a dad, I can't see how its possible to look at a child and think "punching bag" both physically and emotionally.
The poem is a welcome addition to your already legendary poetic skills.

You get right inside this child's head with his own awareness of what he sees, hears, and smells. Most horrifying image: leaving, he's spent and satisfied.
How many children would have the courage to kill their father! A teenager, maybe. Alarming age statistics.

Hard to even react to this. It's an excellently written and amazingly powerful write full of honest and raw emotion, but sometime there's too much emotion to express if it's too close to home. Well done with an excellent presentation. I must admit I had to turn off the sound though. I did however fit well.

I know, from an acquaintance's perspective, that the worst thing to go to prison for, is child abuse... every one in there has children they regret leaving behind, as they serve out their time..,.

Thanks for your unique insights into this one, PW. Child abuse is, indeed, a prison without bars. However, the one's subject to it's ugly tyranny are totally innocent, unlike most of those in prisons with walls.
