Amazingly well written and plotted to perfection.
Your plot was very cleverly woven so it was hidden by the lace and lipstick character of the larger than life 'Gracie."
You're a master of deception as well as well as murder and mayhem.
You drew me right in,bamboozled me and then reminded me to be careful who I trust- no-one.

Thanks, seken58, I really appreciate that, and I am very happy that you liked this one. In the first draft, I had Gracie and Brucie-baby poisoning each other at the same time, but it just felt a little too forced to be believable. I'm truly glad that you liked the way the final product turned out.

Thanks for the read and review, my friend. It's much appreciated!

It was the old switch the coffee trick and give him more. I guess wanting to be number one on The Block was important enough to kill for.
I suspected that she'd do that but had no idea that the supposed publisher was a plant who helped her with her scheme.

Very good dialogue. I kept reading straight through and I'm dead tired right now. It kept me awake. Fine story. Well written.

I'm out of sixes. :( ellen

Well, if it held your interests while being tired, that's a great thing, right?
And, no sixes necessary, Ellen. The fact that you were entertained and enjoyed this is reward enough for me, my friend!

    Thanks so much...

I read your authors notes and it sounds like most everything is dangerous. How does the FDA let arsenic be in so many things. The woman Larry married had killed her first husband with arsenic poisoning and got away with it. Shortly after her daughter bought our house for $1 and she got title to the land Larry bumped off. I've always thought she helped him along to the great beyond but I couldn't prove it. They had proof she killed her first husband but somehow she convinced them the amount she was doing she thought would help his heart condition, God loves you and so do we.

Thanks a bunch, Darkhorse, my fiend! I am really glad that you liked this one. I appreciate you investing the time to read and review it for me. I realize it's a little long, hence the high dollar amount I have attached to it.

    Thanks again, DH, much appreciated!

LOL! So that's how you get to the top of the list, eh? Wonder how many people Margaret and Brooke had to kill to get where they are! LOL! Very well crafted. Bravo!

Hah, I shudder to think about it, Phyllis, hee hee. Of course, it sure don't hurt a lick to have some talent to back it up, LOL...

Hey there, Dean. I see you're #19 on the shortstuff author list while I'm down at #30. Wanna meet me for a cup of coffee?

Maybe I'll invite Pam and Av, too. They're a few notches up from me...

As long as you don't know any wood workers or have access to arsenic...I'm good, heh heh...

I love a good murder mystery with a surprising twist and this one has a real bell-ringer. Poor Brucie wasn't as smart as he thought he was. Great story line and super great dialogue. I really enjoyed this story.

I'm really glad you liked this one, pic. I edited the thing about ten times. It was over 5,000 words, and I had Grace and Bruce knocking each other off. But, after ten or so edits, this was the final result.

Thanks for the great review, my friend.

I had no idea that writers were so jealous of each other. then again if I were a New York Times Best Selling Author, I might have time to complain about the other writers, but I doubt it. I barely have enough time to keep up with Fanstory. lol. Great read. I kept thinking about Arsenic and Old Lace the old Cary Grant movie. too funny. I guess he turned the tables.

Quite a story, quite a twist, quite chilling. Your description of Bruce dying from being poisoned is horrific ... his feelings as he dies. You're an incredible writer.

Thank you, John, and I think you are a pretty darn good writer yourself, my friend!

I'm really glad to get some feedback from another horror writer. It's very important to me. Is there anything you would change? I'm open to all ideas.

Thanks so much, again. I truly appreciate it!

After this Dean, I have decided not to have aspirations above Number 300 ranked author or poet, and certainly not above you. Your narrative had me in all the way even though I worked it out when she went to the ladies room. It didn't matter, because I just wanted to see how it all played out. I think the little details you include like the bird in her apartment, just keep the atmosphere interesting as the storyline unfolds. I also found the woman seductive on every level. I just wanted her to be bad, but beautiful. I couldn't help feeling sorry for Bruce when he died without enjoying the good part. But, the best part for me was the notion that two authors might kill over ranking points won on a pseudo-FanStory sight. It gave me a real sense of the fun you must have had coming up with this story. Well written, very entertaining.

Heh, I sure did, mfowler, I had a lot of fun coming up with different scenarios and endings. At first, I had them poisoning each other simultaneously in Desie's, but I felt that was a bit too contrived.
Anyway, I'm really glad this held your interests. I always appreciate you valuable insight and feedback. Thanks again, my friend!
