You are short a syllable in the second line. I'm guessing you counted 'does' as two but it is a single sound.

The answer is quite simple. Not hungry. We do not kill without valid reason. But I can understand such a worry. I would be paranoid also were I a member of such a volatile race. - yours most truly.... the snake.

Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 syllable count
good use of enjambment to make this into one continuous sentence
excellent use of question to add to the mysteriousness of the situation

Well, technically proficient, but I don't get the message. Sorry, but it's only my personal opinion. The picture is great (but going back to my opinion ... why would you want to have the snake strange her?). Oh well, to each his/her own.
