Excellent poem Good rhyme. Good
flow. I too hope that your wife's
relief from pain is not brief. I think that if the drugs are working it is a good sign. They have bad rep because of over use but are necessary. May she be pain free.

These eight words express the mixed emotions you must be feeling perfectly.
Recovery is often a slow and somewhat painful process but if you focus on each day as it comes and keep your eye on the perceived goal sometimes it is easier to cope through this initial phase.

Although the haiku does not require that you rhyme, it sure does sound good in rhyme. The syllable count is perfect and the words tell a complete story. Sorry about the surgery. Hope the pain subsides really soon.
