This is a wonderful poem. You communicate your theme well. I hope the surgery is a success, and the recovery is speedy. Best of luck, and well wishes.

Tom, this is so touching, and scary, in a way. I'm sorry I didn't get to this one earlier.

I hope she made it through ok. I hope the insurance IS enough.

And, as I promised, I prayed for you BOTH this morning - before I found this.

God be with you both.

Much love,

Sonali

Oh my goodness.... I am so sorry to hear about your wife. I do hope that the surgical procedure went well. And that she is in the recovery stages to a speedy recovery. May she feel better soon. You must be a total mess. Take care of yourself too.

Thank you sunnilicious, the operation went well. The day after will be a busy one, with doctors, physical therapists, social workers, visitors and all.

Prayers for your wife. Hope it's a big success. There is a fair bit of religious imagery. I like your repetition of the word hope.So long as we can hold on to that all will be well in the end.Blessings.

Hello Treischel,

A poem of courage and facing one's fears. T, this is a poem that many can relate to. Of note:

Hope ...

(After facing one's fear, there is only hope.)

My very best wishes for a speedy recovery. I'm sure when she wakes, you'll be right there.

Writing is a good release. Keep the blue waters flowing.

this is very well written, treischel, you did an excellent job writing this free style poem about the fears your wife has and the prayers that I pray will be answered and she'll be out of pain. i enjoyed reading it.

This is a well written poem through the eyes of your wife and also through your eyes by the words you chose.

With the fear of death and disappointment in the outcome but always hope for the positive.

I hope the surgery goes off without a hitch and proves the final cure of the back pain.

Keep writing

I've never had a big operation, but your poem expresses very well the feeling you must have beforehand.
My best wishes for your operation. What a relief it will be to not have that back pain any more.
All the best.

Will be thinking of you and your wife tomorrow and praying all goes well. Back pain it the worst, I had mine go out once and I developed a whole new vocabulary during that time. =} It is the PITS! So will pray it does what it should and relieves her pain. A really well done poem as well. Rox

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow. I hope the surgery is smooth and successful. I admired your rhymes and your communicating the anxiety you and your wife are feeling. The repetition of "hope" is effective. May your insurance coverage be all that it should be! Best wishes- Joan
