Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This strikes me to the core. It may have been written as fist ion, but is the story of one of my daughters and partially my own. Tremendously moving.Very well written. It needs no improvement.

Thank- You for your very thoughtful comments. When I saw the original photo, "Migrant Women," I was so touched. ( You can see it on line. Just type in "Migrant Woman Photo." This is just one in a series. Aside from that, I am humbled and honored by the six-star rating. You really made my day. My sincere thanks. Rubylou

This is a very sad but beautiful poem. The rhyme and meter are perfect, and the mood, of course, is desolate. ONe hopes for the woman, pulls for her, yet overall, the feeling is of pessimism. Nice job!

As more and more safety nets are taken away, it is harder and harder for a migrant mother simply to survive let alone feed her kids. The despair comes through and the laughter will weaken, the pain deepen as we drift further and further away from compassion, the practical compassion of a helping hand.

A moving poem of the progress through life of a young girl into a mother then into aged state and all the tribulations on the way. The last stanza is lovely - full of unanswered questions. A good read. Regards Dorothy

A sad poem about the plight of a migrant mother who is struggling to feed her family and feels hope has turned to despair. You have expressed the pain and hopelessness of the lady in explicit and graphic terms. Great job.

Good use of the abab rhyme scheme. Good solid end rhyming as well as perfect rhyming. Nice flow and rhythm as the rhymes are not forced. Good alliteration with feet/fresh...sweet/sun...despair/deep/decay(good assonance). Good complimentary photo compliments the clear message.
